There's this thing called a salary cap, and some other stack of rules called a CBA. You should look into it.
Dude, this is a message board. If a post of mine is flawed, feel free to point out any salary cap, CBA oversight, etc. More power to you. I post on here a few days a week and it's not like I'm getting paid to do it. I'm not wasting time delving into the CBA solely for the purpose of posting on ClutchFans. If the Cats are unable to absorb Martin's remaining year on his contract... well, my bad. There's got to be a realistic way to get to #2. A way that works for both teams. No?

Hell yeah, I would. Thomas isn't completely useless. And you also have the opportunity to trade Beal for James Harden.
Forgive me for beating a dead horse, but I don't necessarily like the idea of always trading a promising young guy for an established vet. At this point, we pretty much know what Harden is. He's a very very good player...don't get me wrong. But Beal? He could absolutely take the NBA by storm for all we know. Average 23 and 8 as a Rookie. There's no way I'd trade that for any veteran.
Why do people complain about "bad threads"? If a thread is so bad in your opinion, what's the point of posting about how bad it is?
