The last thing we need is a PO'd PJ going into the PO's. Pay the man STAT!

Everyone wants to get paid even before the team knows how the finals feel like.
    Morey is a failed experiment.

You are aware that there is a limit to how much money you can spend, right? Like we can't pay whatever for whoever.

Just give him his last year guaranteed and 1 additional year at 12-15 million and be done with with it. That will ride him out until he is 37. His game should age nicely and by 37 we would have had his best years by then. You need to keep players like him on this team.

    Nope. Will not happen.

34 year-old with two years remaining -- Morey will ride this horse and put him out to pasture when the time comes. Sorry Tucker you are absolutely amazing, but you're also on the wrong side of 30.

This is all business and Tilman is cheap, no two opinions about it.

He is still worth what he makes now for at least 2 more years if he takes proper care of his body, he didn't have the mileage, playing overseas for years.

    7-8 million a year.

Love what PJ brings, but I wouldn't give him an extension.

He'll be 36 at the end of the current deal - I don't see him being productive after that....

Love what he brings!! The man deserves a championship this season for his body of hustlework while just a Rocket. But extension... mehhh

We have him locked up for that sum for the next 2 seasons already!

the last year of his deal isn't fully guaranteed. only $2.5 mil of it is. So yes of course PJ wanting an extension makes complete sense and deservedly so

Not a chance i give him an extension... Dude has 2 years left and is gonna be 36 when his contract is up.

Keep him till his contract runs out then replace him.

I would still give him 5 million if he can deliver as a 36 yr old but the extension is about 1 year......every year.

Also depending on a younger player becoming PJ/ filling his void.

    Fertitta likely would not.

I see your point, but given ownership's past practice there's only going to be one big move above the luxury tax threshold. (If any at all.) And if so, do you want that move to be giving Tucker more money? Or giving Rivers his rumored raise next year? Or extending Gordon? Or trying to add a significant player with Shumpert's Bird rights in a sign & trade?

If you only get to make one of those moves, I don't see that move as removing the Rockets' hedge against injury in Tucker's final year, and giving him an additional year at ~10 million (8.35 M X 120%). Sucks, but this is a league where teams have finite resources.
