With how all the WC teams are playing there are no likely favorites. It's truly up for grabs so even if the rox get past Portland, I would never feel comfortable saying they're strongly favored against any other playoff team.

 

We're more talented than Portland. The problem is Lamarcus went berzerk in games 1 and 2 and we make too many mistakes in the 4th quarter.

 

Lol no. What makes you think we can beat any team in the playoffs right now? Maybe the Warriors. I think even McHale could outcoach Jackson.

 

How are we getting past the Clippers or the Grizzlies? Even the Mavs will give us trouble...

Let's be honest here. Even if we do miraculously get by the Blazers, what chance do we against teams like San Antonio, LAC, Memphis. This team just plays way to wild and are so undisciplined to get far in the playoffs.

 

We've won 1 game against in the first round and are on the brink of being eliminated tomorrow. Get the Finals out of your head, bruh.

No, with the way the Rox are in the coaching as well as mentally weak department. I think Harden and others were indeed bothered by the Sterling situation because they are secretly wondering if their Les is somewhat like that or if that's just how the world is. Depressing...... Just play your game guys. These guys are still young and are early to mid 20s so they don't quite have that Dwight mindset yet.

Umm, I have to disagree... Have you watched those games? They are INCREDIBLE! After watching them, I feel Portland is probably the worst team in this western conference playoff...

Did you see the threes Mike Miller made? The penetration of Mike Conley and Tony Allen, my goodness... my... goodness... I hope our team makes the finals though...

 

The Rockets problems in the playoffs (And the reason POR is up 3-1 is because:

A: The Team is Very Poor at Closing Out Games in the Half Court Offense (With its non-set based offense)
B: Team plays Very Poor Defense
C: Poorly coached

Problem A would automatically negate all good performances the Rockets make in quarters 1-3. (Has happened in the POR series.)

Problem A combined with Problem B would allow the opposing team to out-execute Houston in end-game situations (Has happened in the POR series.)

Problem C is the icing on the cake that ensures the team would most likely lose in close games.

With the other Western Conf. teams, there are no other teams Houston would be favored to beat other than Dallas. Golden State might be a neutral bet, but it should be taken into account that before this series began, Portland was also an underdog and Houston was favored to win as well. How's that worked out?

What wasn't taken into account was the quality of half-court offense of the Blazers and the lack of half-court offense of Houston. Neither team plays defense so in those areas the Rockets' woes actually break even, but they lose in the categories of coaching and half-court offense.

Going from this, it's a pretty safe bet then that Memphis would trounce Houston's already lacking half-court offense with its awesome half-court defense and the Clippers would blow out Houston's terrible defense with their half-court offense. The matchup against San Antonio should favor their half-court offense, defense AND coaching, however they match up rather terribly with Houston. Even so, with advantages in all three categories, I think SA would beat Houston in a 7 game series as well.

Doesn't even matter though as this POR series is over.
