Don't really see any problem with hardens usage. It worked last year and the best players usually have high usage

Does Tony Park & the Spurs qualify? And for Miami, James manages the game most of the time, but he looks to pass first, not scoring as Harden.

I don't have problem with Harden taking tons of shots, or no traditional PG to run the offense. But I don't like the idea of a scoring first guy to manage the game for any team. Curry & Thompson take tons of shots, but neither of them dominate the ball much, most of their shots come from getting open from the off-ball movement, not ISOs.

Curry's usage is about .5-1% less than Harden.

Spurs are interesting. Parker is more of a traditional PG, but Manu did a lot of the playmaking on those championship teams. And no Lebron has never been a pass first guy. More of a passer than Harden, but in no way pass first.

As far as ball dominating goes...

Harden plays 37.6 minutes per game and has the ball 6.2 minutes per game
Curry plays 33.9 minutes per game has the ball 5.4 minutes per game.

Do the math and you find that while on the floor they possess the ball at almost the exact same rate.

The ball seems to get more sticky this year

if we're talking about the team, i think it's mainly about the defense. that's the difference b/w last and this yr.

this yr we have basically the same personnel compared to last yr., with dmo down but a healthier dwight. somehow we're scoring at a similar or even slightly better rate in terms of ppg as a team iirc, but our defense has regressed big time. why that is,,, is another story...
