You do remember that MVP award is a regular season achievement award. If so, I'm disappointed at you beating the media drum. My issue with your view in here is that you continued to perpetrate national media narratives should the Rockets win the championship this year. You alluded to the asterisk season. Who conjure this narratives? The national media. Do you know why? To discredit the Houston Rockets and James-the Beard-step-back-threes-Harden; and to find ways to adulate LBJ. Do you remember San Antonio Spurs first championship win? It happened in a 50 Regular season game. There was a lock out that season because of labor dispute. After the dispute was resolved, the league and players union settled for a 50 game season. At the conclusion, the San Antonio Spurs won the championship. My point, the media did not put an asterisk on the championship. Instead, the national media praised Pops and the Spurs for standing above the fray. Then, what's the problem this time around? The Harden effect. Going by the number of games played this season 72 out of 82, there is no reason to place asterisk on the season if there is no asterisk on a 50-game season. But for the national media, so long the Houston Rockets and Harden led team stand the chance to win it all, the (national media) will find ways to poo-poo the championship feat.
