Joerger owns an overall career head coaching record of 147-99 (.598), including three NBA Playoff appearances with the Grizzlies. In 22 career playoff games, he holds an overall record of 9-13 (.409).[/rquoter]
@WojVerticalNBA: Sources: The Memphis Grizzlies fired coach Dave Joerger on Saturday morning. Story soon on @TheVertical. m.twitter.com/WojVerticalNBA
@WojVerticalNBA: Sources: For second time in three years, Joerger was seeking Memphis permission to talk with other teams on vacancies. Grizzlies let him go.

Asking your bosses for permission to explore other jobs twice in three years...that'll get about anyone fired.
If I was Joerger, I would have no interest from going to one meddling owner (Pera) to the most meddling owner (Vivek). Joerger seemed to always want another job while in Memphis, and Sacramento always seems to want a different coach than the one they have. Stay away from the Kings.
Maaaaaan.....another name on our list. Just tough to know who would be best for us: JVG, Ollie, Vogel, Joerger.....and those are just a few names among many.
The good news... with suddenly a big number of excellent coach candidates the Rockets surely can't mess it up this time. Can they?
Has it been reported that Ollie was interviewed?? Definitely turning out to be a VERY good list of candidates. Would take any 1 of these over Walton TBH, and Thibs was never a realistic option due to desire for total control.
Woj, pretty much said it all. Joerger was at the botom of the barrel in terms of salary and the front office of the grizzlies are so mismanaged at this point that hardly anyone's guess as to who makes final decisions. The fact that Marc Gasol recently eluded to the fact that Pau should go play in San Antonio gives you another clue into it. The facts are that, while I never liked joerger as a coach, Pera and Company have done nothing but run this franchise into the ground.
I agree with you, though you could argue Joerger had a *little* more to work with. I don't blame him for wanting off what will clearly turn into a total rebuild in Memphis.
