Voted B. Got Paul back. I'm assuming that we sign Capella to something like a 4/60, which will be nice for the 2019 when Anderson is an expiring. MCW as a vet minimum is a really good deal- no downside risk. Long and can switch and compete on defense. Gerald Green on a minimum deal is fine. I assume Luc is coming back- even if he takes up some mid-level. Still could swing a Love deal, maybe. Everything is not screwed. We didn't lose Paul. That keeps our window open 2, maybe 3 years, and year 4 is going to be ugly, but then it will just be time to re-set. Still probably the 2nd best team in the league, waiting on a Steph or KD injury to be able to win a title. No shame in losing to a historically great team, and impressed that they are making a move at those guys. If Lebron wasn't coming this is about as well as it could have worked out- if they get Capella on a reasonable deal, which it looks like should happen.
Incomplete. If FA ended today? F minus. Saw some other posters say this, too. If a team needs to rely on other team's players to get injured, it's already a losing battle.
They are an all time great team. They have two of the top 5 players in the league and something like the 20th and 25th best player on top of that, plus a wild card like Boogie, which who knows what happens. Absent Lebron coming there was nothing the Rockets could do to beat a fully healthy and fully loaded dubs team (or at least to be the favorite). They chased Lebron and missed. There was no other move out there that could have put us over the Warriors.
Ariza was a loss but you do know that the Rockets went 10-0 when he was injured this year?? I don't think most people realize this
Incomplete CP3- A (R) Gary Clark- A / undrafted 6’8” 43.5% from 3 on 1.7 (3-pt) attempts per game. Jason Tatum was 34.2% on 4 (3PA). Jason Tatum had a DRtg of 97.8 while Gary Clark (final season) was 81.6 (28.5 minutes a game.....36 games). Didn’t cost anything. (R) V Edwards- D / not sure he can give us minutes at the big league level. I don’t like his footwork. Hope he proves me wrong. 39.8% (3-pt) on 3.7 attempts a game. Like Gary Clark, adapting to NBA 3-pt line can be tricky. 97.9 in final college year. (R) De’Anthony Melton- A / Sat the season out. Must have worked with shooting coaches or Sports Training Complex. Shot well at the combine. Played against Harden and CP3 at the Drew league and impressed. Defense is good. Avery Bradley potential : Melton: good rebounder/ good at steals/ good at blocks/ can score/ runs well in transition/ excellent at blocking-out. All in a 6’3 to 6’4” body. Gerald Green- A / would like him to get a little stronger to help his defense. MCW- F / at 6’6” is he seen as a viable option at SF? Good DRtg near 105. But can’t shoot for distance and struggles to finish at the rim. Nanu/ Ryan Anderson remain- F / i wouldn’t use the stretch provision on Ryan’s contract. Bummer we couldn’t move him. Capela- Incomplete SF position- incomplete / Luc MaM? Another player? James Nunnally? Tucker can play some SF....can Qi &/or Gary Clark contribute at PF?
