    I've never heard of this guy, but RIP. This proves to Stern that not all NBA players are thugs like he'd imagine. Some could actually be a surgeon.

    It's scary how people can just collapse and die during a pick-up game. Especially at the young age of 40 and not jumping to conclusions but I'd imagine he was probably in pretty good shape too. Just terrible. RIP +

    i didnt know that we actually drafted him and traded him to the heat for carl herrera...

    FYI : we got Carl Herrera and Dave Jamerson for him.

    Sad news - especially for somebody that successful outside of the sports ranks. It's a shame we don't hear about these guys and instead always hear about the goons that always get in trouble.

    wow. i remember when we drafted kessler. good size. good j for a big man. limited upside (on the court, who knew about his upside in the OR).

    RIP.

    I always love playing pickup basketball with the fellas. Playing in Houston heat/humidity, your white beater gets drenched in sweat quick. We always bring water with us when we play.

    so sudden, probably either a blood clot that traveled or an unseen heart condition/abnormality. i've met some unhealthy-looking overweight doctors but not SURGEONS. anyway rip, death sux
