On his weekly appearance on @SportsTalk790, Astros manager Dusty Baker said Yordan Alvarez "It looks like he's done, maybe for the year."

Wasn't his MRI negative? What the hell?? I'm going to be extra pissed if this is something that carried over from last season's knee troubles. He has had an offseason and a half to get whatever surgeries he needed.

    Don't worry...

Aledmys Diaz should be back soon. He will be good for maybe a week or 10 days before he gets hurt again.

I sure hope the medical professionals can find a permanent solution. This has lingered far too long.

I was thinking about this when he went on the IL. Sounds like the "minor" knee surgery he had in the offseason didn't go off well (he was having issues in March as well).

Hope he goes and gets a second opinion and gets it taken care of now. Screw this season, we need Yordan for the future.

This is comical at this point. How in the world does he have knee issues when he had months to prepare for the season? Either the Astros lied about his MRI or Alvarez never fixed his knee issue from last year.

Can't they just do knee replacement surgery? It's not like he'll lose his elite athletic ability. He just needs to hit the ball and trot around the bases.

I sell medical equipment in Colombia and Mexico and in general Latin Athletes are very skeptical about getting treatment in general. Its more of a machismo culture there. I sell orthopedic braces and you will be surprised how bad the noncompliance is there. I have had patients with torn ACL's who try wabbling around in public with a brace because it looks feminine.

Is this a bone on bone situation? Do they even have a surgery for that?

Apparently it’s something the team has known for awhile. Why do you decide to make a decision like this on...AUGUST 19TH
