I guess if those 3 played in the series against the Lakers, Clippers would have perhaps won.

It's possible. They folded big time. Losing to the Nuggets up 3-1 is inexcusable.

I want Doc to become our recruiter not the coach. He has a ton of pull in the NBA and the players love him.

He got CP3 to commit to LAC. He got Kawhi to choose LAC over the Lakers. I want that long term. I want a guy who comes in and just attracts people to the team.

Doc Rivers had two years left on his contract, sources tell ESPN. This is a challenging coaching search for Clippers, who are the ultimate win-now team. Among top candidates in the marketplace: Clippers assistant Ty Lue and former Rockets and Knicks coach Jeff Van Gundy. https://t.co/Ov02RYNbK9
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) September 28, 2020

JVG taking Clippers job would be a smack to Fertittas face.

I rather see BOB coach the Rockets than Doc.

That Boston champion team had mostly over the hill superstars. Doc wasn't carried by someone like LeBron or Curry.

Coaching was a significant aspect of that team's success.

KG (especially), Pierce and Ray Allen were all still elite but he also had to deal with competing egos.

Rondo and Ray Allen weren't known as the most affable guys in the NBA.

He kept them competitive until the very end and knew when to cut bait.

I am floored by all the “No’s” in this thread. This is a no-brainer from where I’m sitting if he’s interested. You’re going to have to show me the better choice because I haven’t heard it yet this off-season.

Rivers is overrated. But really there is really no better candidate out there with better resume.

I don't want Cassell either but I would take them together if Doc replaces Tad Brown and Tad Brown gets a new role in the organization.

yes please. Doc's a great coach. He will get to the top of that mountain again; just a matter of time. Hope it's with us.

The failure of the Clippers in this playoff is purely on their 2 superstars.

In the last few seasons, former Rockets Bev did not have any drop off and Montrell had grown into the best 6 man in NBA, that somehow proved a point that he is capable of managing and coaching players lack of discipline, and with low basketball IQ like what we have in the Rockets roaster or players hand picked by Morey.

At this point, he is a way better choice than any other coaches out there for this team.

Pass. Rockets budget for head coach is $3 million and under.

Billy Donovan just signed with Bulls for $6M a year.

D’Antoni left us because the reported Rocket offer for extension in the summer 2019 was $5M.....reduced
to 2.5M if the Rockets missed the playoffs or D’Antoni failed to make it thru 19/20 season.

I’m guessing D’Antoni was offered something similar to the offer given in summer of 2019 (most recently).

Pandemic has happened since and Tillman is still cheap.
