Daryl, how do you and the staff view Trevor Ariza and how do you plan to utilize him next season? He held his match-ups to a very solid 40% efg earlier in the season before he started gambling a bit too much (he's got an amazing read on those passing lanes though) and that stat fell, but he did show he had the potential to excel defensively. He did struggle offensively but then Kmart arrived and Ariza felt more at ease and finished the season beautifully. A triple double to boot. Anyways I'll stop before I go on too long haha.

What are your realistic expectations and goals for this season? It seems the roster as currently constructed isn't quite ready for a championship run. In that regard, how likely is it that we will see a significant trade before the deadline, especially in light of the fact that the talent deserving of minutes stretches all the way down the active roster?

I think you're right, but sometimes I think he talks too much, like about his use of stats, and Kobe finding out about Battier studying Kobe's tendencies and preparing for Battier's preparation after finding out.

In his end of season sit down, what did he ask Chase, Jordan, and Jermaine to work on and have they shown signs that they listened to the requests and have shown that improvement?

Has his son already told him how easy playing Live 10/NBA 2k10 with James, Wade, and Bosh together is and how he should have signed all three?

And while in Vegas does he plan on winning enough to get back the money he lost for giving his opinion on the ideal CBA?

Everyone wants to know about CP3, what is the inside word on the Hornets? Are they that bad financially, that you think anyone (even us) have a chance landing him if they dont do too well this season?

I believe Peterson was a great pick, do you see sliding him in the SF position in the future?

Lowry is a very underrated pg- do you think he will be a starter any time soon? with us or with someone else?

    (1) What is the likelihood (likely or long shot) of being able to add another elite player that will allow us to be championship contenders, either this season or the next?
    (2) If not through trade, what are the chances we will be able to contend for the championship over the next 1-3 years?

In your mind, what is the value of the Knicks picks 2011, and 2012? A potential all-star, solid starter, rotation bench player? Is the current value decreased by the further in the future the pick is?

I wouldn't worry. With Miami doing what it's doing, every wannabe contender has to be looking at Anthony now from NY to Phoenix. He's the only other guy out there than can be that kind of elevator to the promised land.

Might as well inject Houston into the conversation now rather than later. Besides, if Morey isn't interested, let's find out now instead of wondering for the next 9 months.

Guys, Morey is not allowed to comment on players under contract with other teams. (Paul, Melo, etc.)

Taking another poster's question and tweaking it: (props bugerking3)

For a GM characterized as the "stat geek", it appears you place a high value on high character players as well. You are on the record that Jordan Hill was 6th or 7th best in terms of pure basketball potential/production, yet "off the court issues" docked him down into the "10-20" range of overall ranking. On the flip side, Patrick Patterson was #6 on your board, much higher than the league-wide consensus of early teens, because he embodies diligence, professionalism, and leadership. What was Patrick Patterson ranked on your big board in terms of pure basketball potential/production?

we already know that...it's somewhere in the board..

Yo_yo....is there any way you can work my post into the conversation?

    http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=189585

without wasting it as one of the questions? Since it's not open-ended...

As for one of the 5 questions....there's been A LOT of talk on this board about upgrading EVERY position across the board. What are his feelings when it comes to having stars/superstars and role guys on teams? Does he feel you should have as many all-stars as possible, if possible (cap space, etc) or does he think it's important to have guys who can fit a role and specifically complement others.

I know the answer seems pretty obvious, but it may help shut down the feeling around here that we need to improve 24/7 until we have lebron james at every position.

It appears that we have attempted to upgrade the bigs, but given the young talent at pf and hopefully the return of Scola would upgrading the sf spot not make sense if it can be done?

How is Hill doing on his work at center?

Any particular player that we should be watching this summer with a chance to push for a roster spot?

Considering this is the first time Mr. Alexander will be in the luxury tax; It seems that he gave you the flexibility to construct a championship caliber team. Of coarse there is always room for improvement but with our current roster, do you think that we are a legitimate championship contender? If not, what extra pieces do we need in order to carry us to that level.

Can we expect any major moves or minor moves to this offseason for the rockets?

    Heres mine :)

Hey Daryl, when you are looking at potential players, whether it be through the draft, free agency, or trades, what key attributes do you look for in a player in terms of skill or character. What attributes would make a "Morey player".

    I agree with the following:

Yao's status, particularly how he looks in workouts.

    Yak's roster question.

    Thanks The_Yoyo!

Please ask him about Llull if you can. I heard that he might sign on for a few more years in Spain this summer, if thats the case, doesn't it mean he wont be coming in the summer of 2011?

It's clear that Brooks is superior to Lowry offensively but it seems the other way around with respect to distributing the ball. I know you can't answer for coach adelman but what factors do you think he is taking by starting brooks over lowry? And do you think he will experiment with Lowry as a starter?

    4. How do you feel about Aaron Brooks and Kevin Martin as a tandem on the defensive end? Can it work? What about with Budinger at the 3?

    3. Do you feel any of the major stars (CP3, Melo, Deron) are going to shake loose? What would it take - not naming any names - to get one while they're still under contract?

    5. Where did Gordon Hayward rank on your draft board?

    2. Where do you see the Knicks finishing by the end of the year?

    1. How do Trevor and Shane compare defensively? Did either of them improve or decline individually over the last season?
