Thanks a lot for this. I wonder if this means we can steal Pau Gasol from them? PG as the 3rd big guy in our rotation as the backup C/PF woudl be awesome. Even better, maybe we can do an Asik-Gasol swap in the deadline which the Lakers might do to save money, and then use Gasol as a centerpiece to trade with Love. Gasol is the exact type of guy who would bloom in Adelman's system, and with Rubio also on the team they'd have the Spanish connection made.

Apparently Kobe wasn't part of the negotiation, so it's a bit disingenuous to put all the blame on him for this. This is incompetence by the Lakers' front office. Sure, Kobe could tell his agent "I don't want anymore than $X per year", but come on, who does that?

I have noticed that lately, Dwight is really maturing and becoming leader of this team, he seems happy where he is even if he isn't getting enough minutes or shots attempts per game, and that's how you become great team.
really glad how Dwight handling this situation, good for him.

As for Kobe, we all know he is retiring in a few years and they guy is trying to bank as much as possible so no surprising.

    LeBron
    Durant
    Duncan
    Parker
    CP3
    Westbrook

But then again, I realize how pathetic Kobe's defense was last season and how he contributed to an unhappy work environment. I would even put Harden over him based on the last part of the previous sentence.

paying kobe this much looks like poor management... unless of course there is something they know that we don't.

i'm sure Stern will hook up the Lakers on his way out.

Not sure. Did Adelman ever talk about acquiring Gasol as the primary target?
We are talking about their best player.
