what a sick stat line! i don't want to say that the nuggets would have been better with him, that the clippers will challenge for a playoff spot, or that he's better than X or X center...i just want to point out an impressive night.

    That is just silly.

27 rebs? Talk about a player who, when healthy, hasn't shown signs of age.

Speaking of which, remember when UMass basketball was relevant?

Why do so many teams give up on this guy? There has to be a reason why he jumps from team to team. Locker room cancer?

This dude puts up crazy numbers like these everywhere he has been

Maybe so, because he's a solid solid player. Not exactly a perennial all-star, but the guy can put up some stats.

Baron Davis 6 for 23, 2 for 10 on 3pters, 2 FTs...he can chuck you in & can chuck you out.

Because he sucks and is easily one of the most overrated players in the league.

Don't believe me? Ask Nuggets4 who didn't even blink when his team gave him away for a 2nd round pick.

I don't think he sucks. He takes too many long jump shots but his rebounding is outstanding. He is inconsistent but what more else could you want from your center. He gives you rebounding and shot blocking.

I'm not talking about his offense. That's irrelevant. I'm talking about the perception of him as some great defensive force when he's actually atrocious. He's notorious for letting his man get by him so he can pad his shot blocking stats.

The Nuggets have seemed to improve on defense without him though...maybe Nene starting was a better move for them?

So isn't that good defense? Since he was prepared and had his man driving into a trap? Camby is a shot blocking machine.

Not exactly, since he's not going to get the block every time. Also, he's notorious for leaving his man on the weak side just so he can get a block, which often leads to his man scoring.

Stat stuffer sure, but not as good as he's made out to be.

Camby seems like more of weakside defender than a position defender. I think its because he is rather thin for a center. He is the anti-Chuck Hayes. Chuck Hayes defense does not show up in the stats while stats cause us to overrate Camby's defense. Don't get me wrong, I would not mind having Camby play the 4 next to Yao.

I don't watch Camby at all, but this seems to be the common criticism I read about him.

I'm just glad I have this guy on my fantasy team. He and Caron Butler save my a$$ game after game. Plus, 27 rebounds is just ridiculous these days and I wouldn't mind him backing up Yao.

Not a difference maker as far as improving team defense for sure despite his defensive player of the year. The Nugs gave up a ton of points when he was there. Lets see how the Clips do with Zebo, Kaman and him this year, thats a front line that should get you into the playoffs, no excuses are acceptable.
