Assuming everyone here saw the news re: Calvin Johnson.

He is mulling retirement; however, what are the chances he'd consider a change of scenery? None of us can answer that question, but I sure would love him opposite Hopkins. Would you want Johnson on the Texans? Or is that a mere pipe dream?

    <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Calvin Johnson’s cap value
    2019 $18.3M
    2018 $17.0M
    2017 $21.4M
    2016 $24.1M

    All are most among WR

I think we have bigger needs.

What is the deal with Detroit making players retire early?

    1) He costs too much and although it would be nice to pair him with Hopkins, we're not really in need of a #1 caliber receiver.

    2) I doubt he'd come here with our unsettled QB situation.

I think it's fairly likely he retires....unless he's just saying this because he knows that the Lions can cut him and save 12 million dollars next season and he wants his 24 mil. It could be that he's threatening retirement in order to influence contract negotiations.

He'd probably sign a 1 year deal with the Colts

The Texans aren't the kind of team that gets aging free agents trying to chase a ring. First you gotta show you can even win one. If Megatron wants to agitate his way out of Detroit--first that's impossible with his cap figure--but second even if he got waived he would be going to a place like New England or Seattle on a smaller deal. Not here.

Uhhh, its the city of Detroit. They want to retire early and spend more time to enjoy all the beauty that is- the city of Detroit, maybe a little bit of Flint. I dont blame them.

Just a few years ago, Calvin looked like he'd have seasons catching 130, 1800 yards with 20 TDs. Now dude is barely a Top 10 receiver career-wise.

Tough to be all-world for multiple, multiple seasons.

Makes you appreciate Mt Rushmore-level players even more.

He ain't coming here. This is a pipe dream. Brandon Marshall is a more realistic goal.

Texans could spend their money a lot more wisely. WR isn't a huge concern

Stafford/Johnson are going to make $46.5 M this year, which is about 1/3 of the cap. It's only theoretically possible if we cut a bunch of people, don't sign any other free agents, including our own (which includes half of our OLine), and even then we might not be able to afford to sign our rookies.

He's going to retire or go to an organization with an established QB. It would be easier to get a WR from the draft
