c/o reddit, pretty cool breakdown of Harden's offensive arsenal <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/JX8wDfZUr-0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
That video is phenomenal! It needs to get circulated instead of those Harden no-D vines. The media likes to paint Harden as just a foul creating machine but that video shows all of the artistry involved in Harden's offensive game.
Someone voted this post 1 star because I voted it a 5 and it is sitting at 3 right now. Dear 1 star voter, feel free to leave ClutchFans. Thanks.
the fact that James keeps adding new weapons to his offensive arsenal every season since he came to Houston is underappreciated und overshadowed by his poor defense
Ryan Anderson being able to shoot that 3 ball often and over 44% and possibly make some plays in the interior is make or break for this team. I just don't know really. But Harden's only break is that option. If Anderson gets injured for a long stretch it's going to be misery for this team.
Looking at that footage is very much revealing of how inept this Rockets team was. Golden state or any of the better teams rarely ran isolation plays that long but had half court sets with superb passing to set up pick and pops or pick and rolls. Can't win playing this hero ball bs.
Harden can't play like that against, Golden State, OKC, Spurs, Cavs in the Play Off intensity. He'd be shut down or it would wear him out. The Rockets don't have plays nor capable shooters to take the load off. If Harden wants to play like that there has to be another guy on the floor with him that can also play like that. Cavs have LBJ and Irving despite not as a good a 3 pt shooting.
People who've never played basketball at its most competitive level really can't appreciate just how much time in the gym one has to put in to develop moves like this that you can constantly go to in various game-time situations against some of the best athletes in the world. Instead, they'll just call him lazy because that's the easy answer.
well this is what separates the best players from the huge group that just does enough to stay in the league or to get by
