>Check boxscore after decent offensive game >See the usual suspects had a good showing >Hoping to see that every Astro had a hit for the second game in a row >Quickly roll eyes when seeing that Grossman is the only one that didn't Can we just put Hernandez in left and stop humiliating this kid?
He was in left... Grossman was playing RF and is up because Pressley is now on the DL. With Pressley and Fowler out, they still need a 4th OF (Springer, Hernandez, Hoes, Grossman are it right now). The question who "deserves" more AB's... Grossman or Hoes?
Obviously we are speculating here, but if Porter does deem Qualls only available for only one inning, it says a lot about the quality of this individual decision since it is this decision that would affect that possibility.
LOL I thought the same thing while watching, he would put a great swing on the ball and it wouldn't come close to going out.
Great first 2 games so far. First 4 game win streak vs Texas since 2002. Another 430' homerun for Springer. His derby chances are still alive. Stay tuned for Kuechel vs Darvish. Dallas will need a good start. Hopefully Yu strikesout <10.
He didn't hit them high enough. Those towering fly balls really carried. I thought the one to RF was going to be gone and the one to center was going to be a double off the bat. Sadly no.
So that makes them 5-3 vs the Rangers so far? Did I hear right, that they were 2-19 vs the Rangers last year? Yeesh. Nice to see Carter and Springer knocking them out of the park.
I'm watching the game, since I missed the beginning. The pitch before, the catcher was staring at 3rd. He saw Altuve was getting too far off the bag and was going to throw down on the next pitch. I think he should have expected that throw (of course, he has been overly aggressive at times, but it has usually worked out for him this season).
Watched the last two Astro games (since I only get Ranger games on Fox SW: thanks for screwing the fans Les!) and they look pretty good. Several blond players with Hispanic names seems odd but whatever. Players with low batting averages were pounding the ball. Actually enjoyed it.
Occasionally guys come out of nowhere, maybe this season was a turning point, and not merely a good year. Not likely, but certainly not unheard of that Kike could end up being really good player, although he's certainly not as good as he's been.
Astros had a terrible 2009 draft, but now JD Martinez, Dallas Keuchel, & Kike Hernandez are showing maybe it wasn't so terrible.
