No doubt HR and ball to the wall from 2 of the first 3 hitters in the 2nd and Ashby says something like "I like the way Peacock is looking in this inning compared to the first". Never mind the fact that after giving up a leadoff single int he first, Peacock got two routine fly outs to center and struck out Beltre.

Singleton is turning it around. Incredibly, as much as he has struggled this year, Singleton still has an OPS a good 100 points higher than the mess we were parading out to first base before he was called up.
If I were commissioner for a day, I would create the following rule: A reliever entering the game must either: A. Get the last out of an inning B. Face a minimum of 2 hitters
Why take Sipp out Bo.... why???? Its only the 7th inning.... its a 2 run game... unless you are going to let Qualls pitch multiple innings, there are going to be issues regardless of what happens in this AB.
Don't worry... most managers are not going to be emulating the Bo Porter strategy of managing which involves bringing in as many pitchers possible to pitch to as few batters possible. He will sometimes put a pitcher in the OF simply to bring in another pitcher.
Did he really? I figured all the bums got to pitch last night after they went up 9-2... but I guess that's how it became a close game again.
The funny thing is hearing Ashby say that Peacock needs to throw 105-115 pitches in a game in order to help out the bullpen. Well, it certainly wasn't Peacock who pulled himself out tonight with 2 outs in the 6th and a runner on first due to an infield single.
Yep. He pulled Fields in the middle of an inning after he struck out all 3 batters he faced to put in Sipp to throw 24 pitches. It was 10-6 when Sipp entered in the 7th and then the Astros scored 2 more in the 8th and Porter had him pitch the entire 8th inning.
Who is helping him manage this team? Anybody with actual MLB managing experience? I honestly think Bo is just making it up and faking it from time to time. I like Ki-ke.... that's a HR in Houston.
Time to put the game away... hopefully Bo doesn't decide to use Qualls for 2 innings in a non-save situation.
