A comical season now bordering on ridiculous, insane and unimaginable

The question is what is Morey's vision now? If you were him what would you do? you are literally stuck in limbo with one "star" about to walk, only another 2 seasons of your other star who has patchy leadership qualities but undeniable talent - a cheap owner who won't allow you to tank and a coaching situation that needs huge work.

So if you are DM what is the play.

We have KJ, Dekker, Harrrell who are young and have potential, but a heap of kinda average more experience guys ahead of them. You have Dwight who is leaving, Ariza and Brewer who are declining, Ty who will be gone but you gave up a 1st for him.

Oh and I haven't got to D-Mo or Thornton yet.

A team that made the conference finals mere months ago is now a compete trainwreck, and I have watched so many average Houston teams and been more upbeat about wach and every one of them.

I'd love some fellow hurting fans ideas as to how we fix this monumental disaster

You make a decision on Harden. Is he a #1 guy?

    Then you go from there.

There's all kinds of threads discussing this..basically cap space. You make it sound worse than it is. Last year was best case scenario for that team.

You build around Harden, you find guys that fit his style.

Spend money and get specialist role players like someone who crashes the board like a maniac or a true shooter who can shoot from almost anywhere on the court; then get a coach that can teach them the other facets of the game.

    flexibility?

As tired as I am of hearing that word, there's a reason why it's important. People were upset that Morey was still looking for more despite the team going to the WCF, but here we are now. If people can't see that last year was basically a fluke, then I don't know what to tell you, but it was...we're not locked in to that core, we can make changes this summer and some good players will be available. What hurts is losing DMo for nothing...

Morey really seems to need that first round pick this year..so I wouldn't be surpised if we sort of tanked now, unless he thinks he can get it with Bev.

You find a coach that has a plan and you find players that fit that philosophy.

Morey can't find guys who fits Morey's style, no way he finds guys who fit Harden's lazyness.... err style.

You right we should just build around broke back Dmo.

He's the next great big man in the NBA. Only a matter of time before he leads a team as the first option to multiple titles.

He's so good only 2 teams didn't want him.

    1. A top-10 player just entering his prime (argue all you want, but the majority of NBA teams would trade their best player for Harden straight up, so we're better off than them by default)
    2. Several young, promising players signed to bargain deals (Capela, KJ, Montrez)
    3. Lots of flexibility, no bad long-term contracts handcuffing the team
    4. Plenty of cap space entering one of the biggest free agency periods ever
    5. A top-10 front office (again, people will argue this because they're irrational, but it's definitely the consensus around the league)
    6. Currently in the playoffs, will probably finish at or above .500. This is something Houston fans usually celebrate & get excited about when the Texans or Astros manage to do it.

You also have teams that are ahead of the Rockets in the standings right now, but are worse off overall. The Mavericks and Grizzlies come to mind with their aging cores and the fact that they'll need a full rebuild before contending ever again. The Blazers are hot right now but they've got a longer road ahead of them than the Rockets. The Thunder may very well lose Durant this summer and have to do a semi-rebuild just the same, but with less money in a smaller market than the Rockets. Then of course there's the Clippers. At least we don't have to put up with that.

Coming off a season where he could've easily won MVP? Yeah he already answered that question. He needs a better supporting cast though, preferably a couple more stars. Right now he has zero stars along side him.
