A's fans on twitter looking back at TB and worried more about being caught by them than their prospects of catching the Astros. I don't want TB in the playoffs even though I know the Astros wouldn't play them until the ALCS.
Rays does look pretty good right now. After 1 more game with the rangers, they have 7 against Toronto and 3 against the yanks at home. So yeah, if im the A’s, I would looking back too. A’s were lucky they didn’t get swept by the Rays last weekend.
Looking at the box score, looks like the A's bullpen imploded with 5 of the 8 pitchers used giving up runs. Maybe all that bullpen usage is finally coming back to haunt them. In a mathematical coincidence, today is 9/19, we play the Mariners 19 times and each team has won 9. Hmmmm.
If TB went 10-2 to finish, the A's would only need to go 5-6 to finish ahead of them. Possible though.
Rays won again today. Pressure on the A’s tonite. Do the Rangers have any pulse left? They’re playing like crap after sweeping us in late July. I still can’t velieve we got swept by them at home.
They are playing the Rays and got swept. And got swept by the A's. They are factoring in the race as an opponent of the Rays right now, which is why he mentioned them.
Rays were 1500/1 to win the WS according to Vegas Insider a few days ago, but sadly I couldn't find a book online offering the Rays as an option. I wanted to put $100 on it to win $150,000. Hopefully after tonight they will have a line up so I can bet it.
I have to admit...those pesky As are having a great season after a slow start. They would be running away with it if it weren't for the Astros. Their second half run does kind of remind me of the Astros of last season. Lets hope their good play doesn't translate into the playoffs. A part of me can see them winning it all.
