Demetrius Jackson. Why didn't we pick this guy in the 2nd? WHY? Of course the Celtics thank their lucky stars and snap him up. Ainge is probably sending Morey a thank you email as we speak.

Since when do the draft choices make much sense? Hell, we gave up a potential 12th pick for 5 games of the playoffs.

Yep. Unbelievable. I threw up a little when we passed him at 37. Then when he slipped to 43 I said "surely we take him now."

    Nope.

Are we not in need of players that can put the ball on the floor? That can shoot? That can playmake? That MAKE free throws? This is dishraceful honestly. Just unreal.

So much for going with the best available. I'm just about done with Morey for real.

I heard Ainge, Simmons and most all Celtics fans were hoping Zhou Qi dropped to them, instead of Demetrius.

You mad now? Imagine if we had kept the #12 pick and picked up some draft and stash foreign player. The board would be (even more) livid.

The Rockets didn't want a 1st round pick, it would have eaten away at cap space they hope to have to lure some fictional player that is NOT coming here.

Next month when we end up with Bazemore or Barnes and Biyombo the boards are going to MELTDOWN!!!

I would have liked Felder or Bolomboy but whatever. We got a buddy for Trez and a prop for Les.

If Demetrius Jackson can become a good NBA PG, why did Jarian Grant start over him for two years, and turn out to be such a bust...already becoming a journeyman after his rookie year getting thrown in to trades to make salaries match.

And this is coming from a big ND fan.

The answer is: Grant was the more pure PG, and Jackson was the better shooter from 3s, but only as a spot-up shooter. So he played as Grant's SG. He is clutch though. But, I'm not expecting much from Jackson. PGs are easy to get, and we got a better one in GP2, as proof. Might as well swing for the fences with Qi.

he's not good. I mean, sure, he's worth a 2nd round flier but no better than the guys we drafted.

Does anyone know why his 3pt shooting fell off a cliff?

He didn't play PG until this year. Jarian Grant was the ND PG, because Grant was a pure point. Jackson got more spot-up 3s with Grant, then after Grant left last year, ND went with him as a point.

So, it's not as much his shooting fell off, just his open looks. We can say he'd fit as a spot-up PG for Harden. But let's not say he can play the point as well as Jarian Grant.

So, he's likely a small NBA SG with some PG skills. Dime a dozen
