green is a unique and very talented player. but he never strikes me as a max player. at least not under the old max pay "standards". but what do i know. people are telling me even dragic is demanding 20 mils per nowadays.
He's gonna get a max offer from someone. There are too many teams out there with money to spend this summer. Plus, the max amount he can get(15-16 mil) won't seem that bad a year from now when the salary cap goes up.
What is the max he can get this summer? I never really looked at the Cavs' contract situation before. I knew Tristan Thompson was a free agent and that Love and LeBron can opt out(I don't think either one will). But JR Smith also has a player option and Jones and Shumpert are free agents. How in the hell will the Cavs keep this group together? No wonder they're playing with such urgency. This is probably it for them.
Curry winning the MVP this season was like when Derek Jeter won Gold Gloves, pretty much everyone outside of his fanbase knew it was undeserved, but he got it anyway based on team accomplishment. I don't think anyone could make much of an argument for Curry being one of the top 3 most valuable players in the NBA because players like Lebron, AD, and Harden are clearly ahead of him. We might as well re-name the MVP award to the BP-BT award for this season.
This is a FANTASTIC article on this series

How are the Cavs stopping the Warriors? the style the cavs are playing is how i wanted the rockets to play. this style fits our roster more than the run and gun morey ball style. we just need a legit power forward who can defend+rebound and knock down mid ranger shots and harden has to become a better half-court player. oh and the whole playing defense thing
i don't know why the warriors are not trapping lebron and forcing the ball out of his hands like the celtics used to do when lebron's second best player was mo williams. the warriors defense makes no sense. LEBRON IS THE ONLY THREAT ON THE TEAM. wtf.
Well, because Lebron is good enough to split that double team pretty often and then your defense is screwed.
Yeah, you can't out run Golden State. That plays to their strength. But also, "playing slow" doesn't play to the Rockets strength either. The Rockets NEED "fast break points" to supplement their offense. In reality fast break points should not be a necessity, but rather a "value add." The problem is that the Rockets can't play slow/half court because their half court offense is average. A big part of that is not having DMO in the low block to keep teams honest and not having a secondary ball handler to keep teams honest in guarding Harden. Add those 2 items in, and it is a different story. I feel this is what the Rockets need to do, to take the next step, and take it to another level.
I dare them to double and trap Lebron with a lineup of Mozgov, Jr Smith, Mike Miller, and James Jones out there. It will rain threes so hard the Splash brothers will be like "damn!"
no one, lebron certainly included, can be as effective under double teams as being single covered. at least gsw should try it and see what happens, imo. the "let lebron get his" mentality is somewhat arrogant on gsw's side, imo. let's wait and see how they adjust in game 4.
