How are these control freaks not fired, these are not referees! Dwight better be careful, already 5 technicals or maybe go nuts and get that 6 and 7th out of the way if they call some bull****.
This is really disappointing. How did we KNOW that 1 of these 2 would be involved... and to have both is like being stabbed in the heart before the game even starts.
lol... they don't want them ever either... (Clips Spurs G7 thread) https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/34m5s0/referees_for_clippersspurs_game_7_monty_mccutchen/
I posted this in the other thread, but it deserves to be said again: This is the first playoff game this year that Tony brothers will not be the head ref. He has only done this ONE OTHER TIME this year! In other words, the NBA went out of its way to give us these two...
They are known for calling against the Rockets. Calling it loose when the other team is on defense and extremely tight when the Rockets are on defense. Both refs have issued numerous phantom calls against the Rockets during the years and both historically make most if not all 50/50 calls against the Rockets.
These refs are not a positive at all. But the Rockets play can take the game out of the refs hands. We just have to not get frustrated by any horrible officiating.
If we lose this game because of officiating, that is it for me, watched since 2008 and after 7 years of watching shady calls on our Rockets with Yao & now Dwight, I have had it. I will become one of those people who will say the NBA is exactly like WWF: scripted and decided upon beforehand. I don't care how inaccurate or accurate it is, we know there's fishy stuff going on and referees have the freedom in the world to decide how they want to officiate a game. Isn't that crazy, they can actually go nuts and nothing would happen. They could give Dwight 2 technicals tonight just because, if McHale asks one thing: technical, Harden gets fouled and starts whining: technical. They can do it!!
After learning of the referee staff for this game, I'm putting big money on Clippers to cover and win tonight. At least I can help out my wallet while my heart is crushed
Or why teams can't appeal (maybe not the right term) ref assignments like in boxing, if I'm not mistaken. It feels like the NBA went out of their way to screw the Rockets with these selections.
