Goran Dragic is now following the Rockets on Twitter

Ya, I remember that - I think they had the Cav's colors commented out in the page source or something like that. I guess we will know something is up if Dragic gets a DNP over the next few days.

 

I didn't see it posted in this thread yet, but Cyberx said yesterday in that ginormous thread that his sources did NOT think the player we are on the verge of acquiring is Dragic. He didn't have a scoop on who it might actually be.

 

I recall many folks who said Dragic does simply have more potential than Klow because he was 6'3, tenacious, could drive and score.

Looks who is the better allround player now and who is on the way out with his team.

Let's get this straight. The only reason Dragic is being talked about here is because the Suns signed two PGs to long term deals while Dragic is on an expiring one. Make no mistake, Dragic could earn a contract just a big as Lowry's this summer. Lowry also lead a team to the playoffs while Dragic tried as hard has he could but didn't have the same squad that Lowry had.

 

because as much as I love Dragic and want him back whats to say he resigns with us next year? Wasted a TPE and NO's first pick on him? I've grown to like Jet and Canaan has some potential.

 

its probably corey brewer. The lineup of Bev, canaan, terry and nick Johnson somewhat actually functions pretty well at this point. I wouldn't be crying if they can't get a point guard. I would rather have a stronger backup 4/5 at this point especially if TJ is out till March or whatever.

I don't think that's a particularly fair assesment. Phoenix had their hand forced when the Twolves got involved and basically gave Bledsoe the necessary leverage to pull off his contract. This was after they gave Isiah Thomas a big deal earlier in the summer because they weren't sure if they were going to be able to retain one or both of their guards in the near future - the opportunity for an insurance plan was there and so they took it.

If Dragic has been a RFA last summer and Bledsoe had an option next summer, we might be talking about getting Bledsoe instead of Dragic. The uncertain future of Dragic is more a consequence of poor timing of cap resources than a reflection of his actual talent on the court. If Bledsoe had just taken a significantly cheaper deal because there were no suitors left in the market to pursue him, the Suns might be trying to negotiation Dragic's contract right now....but that's not what happened.

By the way, I don't know if Bledsoe is necessarily a better player than Dragic - they are two completely different types of players, but he is most definitely able to impose himself physically on a team in the same way a guy like Russ Westbrook does which is of some rarity. In other words, I don't blame them prioritizing Bledsoe over Dragic - he can do more by himself with less while part of Dragic's value is in playing with smart players(like Channing Frye) who he can get the ball to.

 

Like I said a minute ago - it was all contract timing vs available resources. Had Dragic been a RFA this summer and Bledsoe an expiring next year, the situation would likely be exactly opposite to what it is now.

Not really, he's been out for the past two games with a lower back strain and is questionable tonight.

 

yeah yeah gogi can improve our transition game by himself but this move has to be done most importantly because it will balance out our international line up.
