That's not bad. he gets a less grueling one year season until March then he can be added to some nba roster that is going into the playoffs.

Can anybody fill me in why this guy got snubbed in the NBA? Yeah, he's a bit of a loose cannon, but at the same time Blatche is only 28 and happens to be one of the more gifted NBA players, if you watched the Worlds tournament he was bringing the ball up from the outbound line and would make plays for the rest of the (outmatched) Gilas Filipino team. While I understand teams would be hesitant to commit money to the guy after the Wizards and the Nets dropped him, it's hard to believe teams wouldn't offer him the 2.5M he got from China, I mean Morey is willing to gamble a high draft pick for a boom-bust guy like Cousins, well Blatche costs just an open spot and maybe 3M a year.

Is his stock really that low? Dude couldn't even get a minimum contract in the NBA? What am I missing here?

Wasn't he the one who was begging his teammates to get him a triple dub a few years ago? I think it was one assist or rebound... and nobody gave him a care.

Yes you're definitely missing one part of it. Blatche has shown himself to be a selfish player. More importantly, he will make probably three times more than the minimum for half the number of games playing in China. Then he can sign for an NBA minimum contract for half the year.

The guy's not aiming for a ring, he's aiming for the biggest $$$ in his career obviously.

    Dorsey 2mil for 2 years
Blatche 2.5mil for 5 months in China

We have the Bi-anual exception. If we need him,we can make an offer although Bi-anual is reducing after New year so it's not a big advantage over vet min.

also note that reportedly the 2.5 mil is net (after tax) - that means close to MLE salary before tax in NBA

Would've definitely been a nice pick up for us. Still not sure why we didn't look at the guy

His basketball IQ rivals that of the great Stromile Swift.

Perhaps zero, but his natural inclination is towards defense rebounding and shotblocking. He is as good at those things as Blatche is at scoring. We don't need a dumb scorer. But we can certainly use a dumb rebounder and shotblocker.

Good enough to be the starting center on teams that have won Greek league, Spanish league, and Euroleague championships.

EDIT: My mistake, doesn't look like he was the starter for Barcelona last season.

Dumb scorer? He averaged 11pts 5rebs last year. What we need is a low post option next to Dwight. It's impossible for Dwight Howard to score ALL the points in the post this season. Are you telling me Dorsey's a better fit off the bench at PF/C? That's laughable lol. Dorsey shouldn't even be in the league to begin with.

What we need is Dwight to stop trying to be a low post option and we'll be fine.
