Is this the most reused line in the media about Morey?

Honestly, I feel like that exact phrase is used every year. It's odd to me that it keeps being used in the same way.

This article must have been written at the beginning of the season...

Kind of silly if you think about it. He is *the* most active GM in the league.

Wouldn't surprise me at all to see us make a deal for a PF. Jones has played really well, but our DRB% is abysmal and we are 2nd to last in offensive rebounds given up per game. If we're going to be a good to great defense, that has to change. And the PF is the guy that has to get the rebounds after Dwight goes for the shot.

Agreed, posted on this earlier as well.

It's not a knock against Jones at all. He looks like our future at the position and will continue improve. We just need a veteran 4/5 in the mix that can help stabilize things whenever Jones is in over his head and/or situations where we're giving up too many second chance looks.

I can't hope that Codman's "somebody got hot" and King Drew's "yes, volcanic" are any reference to the Heat and a certain power forward who'd be perfect for the team.

Upgrading the PF makes sense though. Terrence has his good games and his not-so-good, and he's still too green against the West's plethora of skilled 4's.

Playoff basketball people, see most of basketballholic quotes. Mchale would love to run his sets like he did with PPAT and bring that back to our offense, for those who complian hes not good at X & Os. With this information leaking maybe millsapps still be an option ?

    2-17-14 @ESPNmarcstein (Marc Stein)
"Knicks' focus leading into Thursday trade deadline is upgrading at point guard. And word is a new name intrigues them: Atlanta's Jeff Teague"

"Also: Teague not only must approve any trade but also owns long-term deal that slices into Knicks' projected flexibility for summer of 2015"

"But Knicks said to be investigating all PG options since they're convinced top target Kyle Lowry is NOT available between now and Thursdays"

Jones has been productive, but I expect the "in over his head" situation to happen during the playoffs. Rockets need someone seasoned and experienced to take up the slack.

Would rather upgrade our bench and possible starting pg situation. I like Bev and Lin is expendable. But Bev is better coming off the bench.

The way that the NBA market works is that you have to deal with the opportunities that are there. It's not shopping at Walmart, where you just go to the PF department and get PF off the shelf if you want one.

It doesn't matter which position Morey "would rather upgrade." There are only so many difference-making players out there and only small portion of these are really available at the deadline.

Would love Millsap. He's having a spectacular individual season but the Hawks are on a 5 game losing streak. Get'er done Morey.

IMO the really big question today is who (a) matches up well with players we have to get past to advance in the playoffs and (b) who would be available to do that.

I think back to The Logo's acquisition of Klay's daddy who matched up well with KMc and who helped the Lakes win B2B then.

That isn't the S*T*A*R but the guy who helps with the Ws at the right time and place.

No one is known to be gettable right now who can help the Rox more than a healthy, committed Omer Asik. That's front court.

Now, for that D&3 wing guy? Who is that man?

He is an interesting name. If Atlanta is in "sell mode" and is actually entertaining trade talks with NYK involving Jeff Teague, I wonder if Millsap is also on the table. He won't be cheap, though. Ferry would likely demand Asik, Jones plus a 1st rounder, maybe more.

agreed, ideally we'd sign a vet to take over the starting spot this season and provide some stability, allowing T Jones to still get a lot of valuable minutes off the bench and grow into starter next year. But Jones is also probably one of our best assets right now. It'll be interesting (and possibly heart-wrenching) to see Morey weigh his long term potential versus short term gain and what caliber of player it would take for Morey to be willing to sacrifice Jones in a trade.

I really don't see us landing a big name player, but I can absolutely see us bringing in someone who can defend and rebound who may not necessarily start. A Chuck Hayes type replacement. It's just really hard to do when you're only looking for contracts that expire with Asik and Lin's.

So, Asik/Lin/Brewer/#1 for Milsap/Teague for Chandler/Shump ? How close to Trade Machine-ability is that 3-wayer???
