Pretty boy Parsons, huh? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Chandler gonna start dressing like Russ?
Pretty boy is better than Justin Bieber (I think that's what they were calling him before). Let's just hope that Chandler can still focus on his game and not get too Hollywood.
I love Parsons as much as the next hetero male, but that is not a good look. I guess it doesn't matter because he's going to score anyway.
The NBA culture sure has changed in this regard. I remember when players were respected but not necessarily liked by their peers -- and that was cool. Some of that changed after the Dream Team and their summer in Barcelona. But for the most part, it being 'important and cool to dress well and be respected by other guys around the league' wasn't so important. Somewhere along the way NBA players began equating 'likability' and 'respect' as similar. That doesn't bug me nearly as much as the drive to seek and attract this type of validation. Maybe I'm old school, but it's one of the reasons why Cuttino (off the court) rubbed me wrong. He always seem to gravitate toward the limelight -- a light usuallly reserved for star athletes & A list celebs. That said, Chandler is a young man and should do what he believes is best to promote his 'brand'. It's obviously crucial to professional $uccess in today's global NBA market. More power to him.
Tim Duncan is one of the worst dressed (non-Asian hahaha) in the NBA, but I'm sure he's well liked and respected by other guys around the league. I hope Parsons doesn't focus in the wrong thing.
