To those saying he hould have swatted it away from the Jags player ... Should he have been looking up at the ball or looking at where Jags players were around him ... Give me a break ... This one is on Dressen for fumbling and Shaub for throwing it short and down the middle at the end where nothing good could possibly happen ... Horrible decision making
The mistakes in the last 16 seconds are astounding. 1) False start that takes away any chance of even attempting a FG 2) Throwing it over the middle on 3rd down with no way to stop the clock. Pointless play. Couldn't call time out. Couldn't make it to the sideline. Couldn't spike it because it would've been 4th down. Don't know whether to blame the play call on Kubes or decision to throw over the middle on Schaub (unawareness). Maybe both. 3. The fumble 4. Antonio Smith's offsides that moved the ball to midfield, allowing Garrard to reach the endzone on his hail mary attempt. 5. Having most of our corners play tight coverage on the receivers? Why? You know they're going to heave it, drop them back. 6. Glover's "volleyball set" to Thomas (debatable). That's a lot of mistakes in 16 seconds.
So who are the stud d-lineman in this years draft? Lol. Now I know what its like to be a clipper or pirate fan.
Rosencopter... Vinsanity.... And now this play. Well, Jaguars complete the division rivals winning in the most soul-crushing way against the Texans. What's sad is a conservative Kubiak playing for OT would have been the better playcalling instead of going for the FG since they were in no man's land with little time left and no TOs.
Well I'm glad I picked up Garrard to help my fantasy team today. That last TD gave me 27 points from him! Gotta find the silver lining somewhere.
Cue the Kool-Aid drinkers: "Come on man, you can't blame the coach for the team making ridiculous mistakes!" "Come on man, you can't blame the coach for the team coming out flat in the beginning of games!" "Come on man, you can't blame the coach for the DC he brought in sucking!" Did I miss any? I'm sure I did.
bingo! that's what i was saying to my dad. it was just a comedy of errors. too many stupid mistakes. that tight coverage make zero sense.
For the first time this season I did not get mad when we lost... You almost come to expect bad things to happen...
Quin did the right thing but you're supposed to knock it down, not slap it back into the middle of the field. The ball hit right in both hands, he could easily control where he batted the ball. Rather be lucky than good I guess.
What makes it even sadder is we had two gift missed FGs. Wrapped up in a pretty little box and served on a silver platter. Houston sports snapping defeat from the jaws of victory since well ever...
I'm still crushed, man. Like, if the hottest girl in the world was asking me to do her right now, i don't think i'll be able to get excited enough.
Next time you're on the receiving end of a 50 yard hail mary, you try to "control" where you spike it and tell me how it goes. He played that about as perfectly as you could possibly play it. Stop blaming Quin.
Not a bad idea. I'd like to get a fire Kubiak, both Smiths, and anyone else on the coaching staff thread going.
