James and Wade will never be as lethal as Jordan and Pippen, ever. Just a sample comparison, Jordan and Pippen struck fear in the hearts of their opponents just by looking across the huddles at the start of games. OTOH, James and Wade attract contempt from their opponents. This was pointed out by Reggie Miller in tonight's Celtics/Heat game. No to a Scola trade. The Rockets need Scola's warrior mentally since the team is full of "gentlemen" basketball players. Bosh, however, looks lost, weak and pathetic as he is exposed with weak heart and will power while playing for the Heat.
Agreed, it is absolutely ridiculous. The priority is to get Lebron and Wade acclimated first, and Bosh will have to excel in whatever gaps are left. So in a way he has a tougher task. I also agree his main focus should be to move more towards low post shots and away from mid-range shots. Why people expect that this team should come together in 8 games baffles me. Hell, the Rockets, even with the injuries, look nowhere near where they should be 8 games in. And we haven't had that large of a turnover.
Lebron and Wade both need the balls to be effective. The heat don't need a PG who distribute, they need a guard who can play solid defense and hit jump shot. What they need most is, a true low post player. Haslem, Z and Bosh are all jump shooting big men. Joel Anthony can block shots and Haslem can actually rebounds whereas Z and Bosh are too soft. A player like Noah, Varejao and Elton Brand(yes the reborn Brand) will help.
This is why Bosh needs to go. You're asking a player to add a new dimension to his game in the middle of the season when it's just not his nature. He's not a banger. He had however many years in Toronto to shoot from anywhere he wanted and he never was drawn to the paint. Most here are Rocket fans, how many seasons was it before Yao finally got tough? I watched Pau grow into a tougher player and that's a direct result of playing with Kobe. Kobe will call you a punk b**** to your face on youtube if it means winning. And Pau still reverts to a cream puff at times because that's just who he is. Asking Bosh to grow a pair is like asking Iverson to share the ball with Melo. He's the puppy dog version of KG and the Heat are better off with a guy like Varejao. Get rid of him now while he still has the mystique of a 20-10 guy because he's fastly losing that reputation.
Question is would he be a good fit in Houston. Scola is putting up great numbers but the team is playing like crap, should Morey pull the trigger on a deal to bring a max player in like Bosh and let go of a productive player like Scola for an under performing Bosh in Miami in hopes that he'll be a better fit in Houston. Bosh's contract is a killer that would make me think twice if I was Morey.
