Everybody is complaining about Yao but miss to realize that he is drawing double teams most of the time. The consequence of that is that our shooters get open shots.
So Yao is not playing to his potential but still has an impact when he is on the court.

Yeah i would like to see T-Mac swing the ball to Yao on the baseline or near the free throw line when they have pick-and-rolls. Yao NEEDS that shooting touch back to get some easy baskets and keep his confidence up during games.

He wasn't doing any of that fundamentally wrong. Your implication was that Yao was playing "stupidly" - this was not the case. He was playing poorly, fundamentally poor.

Every player in the NBA sets a moving pick on 60+% of picks - Yao does it less than most. Yao's best skill as a rebounder is boxing out. He gets outrebounded because of lack of athleticism. Yao is a great free throw shooter for a center. He missed two clutch ones - his shot was off all night. Yao generally rotates well on defense. Everybody gets dunked on.

I know you're an loyal Yao fan, so more props to you for admiting yao needs to get mentally tougher and other parts of his game. the skill is there, but the mental toughness sadly is lacking. i even Venture to so, if he Continues this path, by this time next year, there could be alot of dissapointed Rox fans!

If Yao is going to get called for stupid offensive fouls anyway, he should start throwing elbows in the process. That will keep players off his back.

Whew that was close. Yao was terrible, he was hesitant and he seems to be aiming his shots. T-Mac also had a subpar night but Bobby Sura and Juwan saved the day. Almost a blessing that Yao and T-Mac didn't have good games, shows that this team has some other talent that can step up. You know I bet that MoT is going to break out any day also.

You tell me. It is his fault that he is allowing his skills to deteriorate to the point where he is essentially an awkward oaf on the court.

after a over-time win, no one is talking about how well sura and howard (in his last 10 min) played. the focal point is how poor yao played. Man, talking about marketing value:rolleyes:

my concern is not yao, he will rebound. t-mac seems to have a bad injury today, hopefully there is nothing seriously. waiting for the follow-up

Can anybody calculate Yao's average performance when Matt Boland is the referee?

We might be able to predict at which game Yao will suck just by looking at Matt Boland's name! LOL

And Yao was fouled a lot of times downlow and no foul called. People done hitting him all over down low and no call. Slapping Wrist, slapping arms, push in the back, plain shoving, hacking head, elbow to the face.

    Not his career, tonight.

"He wasn't doing any of that fundamentally wrong"...."He was playing poorly, fundamentally poor."

I think Ewing has something to do with this, but that is just a wild guess.

I have said many times that Yao needs to get a jumper to negate the effect of referees especially when they are biased. If refs are going to let the defender use illegal, aggressive tactics on Yao, what can Yao do? He should adapt like Tim Duncan and shoot jumpers. Bank them off the glass if he has to.

Brad Miller wouldn't be allowed to make jumpers if he was coached by JVG.
