Morey choosing staff vs. Patrick choosing staff.

    Not seeing the disconnect?

I could be wrong, but wasn't Hornacek forced to run the Triangle offense with a roster that did not fit the system by Phil Jackson?

I see it, but the guys they are bringing in are not bad coaches, IMO. However, I am concerned if Nate will want to switch the Rockets man to man. Clearly that is not going to work for Harden/Westbrook.

Yes I would FAR rather still have Daryl Morey and Van Gundy and his staff....... but that isn't happening.

Glad they at least settled for Silas over Lucas..... and McMillan and Hornacek are better than a lot of the other names floating around.

I prefer Silas and McMillan to JVG and Finch. McMillan hopefully has a good relationship with Myles.

I thought he was decent in Phoenix

Wait so Silas isn’t picking his staff?

I watched his Knicks. He had great ideas with poor translation to players

I didn’t know that. I though MDA chose his people. That’s really weird

The Rockets had the top rated defense in the playoffs under Elston idiot. How many incorrect things can one person post? Damn

Willing to forgive Hornacek if he can command respect of the players .

we need a little bit of “Utah Jazz dirty”

please get some bigger guys that can play defense and can maybe handle perimeter players every now and then . The offense almost doesn’t have to matter ... harden and WB in a PnR with a guy that can finish at the rim is still pretty automatic .

never forget we managed to get the second seed with harden and Joey Dorsey and Tarick black playing significant minutes while Dwight was down . Sure the nba has changed , but you’re telling me Harden doesn’t have the skills to stay an efficient creator ? No way .

we also need to get another ace defensive small guy . Harden and WB prolly match up best vs 2’s and 3’s . Gordon isn’t reliable for a whole season . Rivers is nice but he’s not Coming back imo .

PJ off the bench as a 25 mpg backup big , sign me up . Roco starting 4 . Can we find a good 3 and D 6’2” guy to start at point . Maybe we can exchange House for someone like that ? I haven’t done my research .

I think we will have to use FA money to get a big . I doubt Gordon gets us anything worth replacing his potential upside .

we won’t have the talent to be a top tier pick . We will have to muck it up and hope we can get hot . I still think we have a year to make an OK run , of course you have to get lucky .

That defense was more MDA than it was Turner.

Turner's defense was ranked near bottom of the NBA before MDA forced change back to Bzdelik's switch everything.

Not true, go check the articles and quotes: Turner turned it around.

All the insiders said it was MDA and Morey changing back to Bzdelik's defense based on input from key players.

Turner did stress disruption so kudos to him there and this finally improved with addition of RoCo and return to switch everything.

But Turner was running Bzdelik's switch everything defense, not his own.

    This is known.
