I kinda agree, personally i think JVG would've adapted to the roster, but i'm not sure he would've been able to work it out with James and Russ in terms of personality etc, that's just my guess though.

Yes, especially for the rebuild process if/when that happens. I think it's a GOOD hire for the now and a GREAT hire for the future of the Rockets.

Hornacek is a really good hire.

I don't see how McMillan fits with the Rockets ..... I am assuming he is going to run the defense and he runs a system vastly different than anything the Rockets do.

I am curious what @heypartner thinks of these hires.

I hope this will be the first drop of rain on this parched land. Silas needs his own assistants. MDA was treated badly.

Defense. From what I've read, that may be a weakness in Silas' game (?)

    Very smart hire.

Maybe we can actually not be totally predictable on offense now.

Wasn't McMillan on the Blazers and Pacers when both teams had bad defensive seasons? Not sure i remember well.

Im mostly just going off of what I've seen from both as head coaches. Nate's always had teams that competed hard for him those Indy series against anyone was never an easy out.

Jeff Hornaceck as a head coach on the other hand.......he's had some very ugly situations with the Suns and Knicks, but I dont know much more than that.

Lucas was the worst option, glad he wasnt picked.

I wrote before, Silas isn't a great short term pick, but long term he is a better option than JVG.

To me, this looks like the franchise is getting ready to start fresh. Do not be surprised if this is the last year with Harden and Westbrook. I would say I am very confident that this might be the last year the Rockets go after a championship before they blow it up...

McMillan is a very tough and hard nosed guy. His players always play hard for him. He is just the opposite of analytics. He doesn't like 3's for example. He is a good coach, I just question how he will translate to the players we have on the team. We cannot play man to man.

Hornacek is pretty creative and smart. He coached some really bad teams. He is someone that can do a little coaching on both sides of the court and can help make adjustments.
