In before "He will be paid with Landry's gift cards."

    But really, $1M-$3M.

I think it will look exactly like what they offered MDA.

$2.5M base with bonuses for making the WCF, finals, and championship.

Who is the lowest paid coach in the NBA? I'd be curious.

A few years ago Atkinson and Earl Watson were getting paid $2.5 million a year as a first time head coach. I'm assuming the rate hasn't gone up all that much. As of July this year, Billy Donovan was reportedly making $6 million to coach OKC and that landed him 5th on the list of highest paid coaches.

Spoelstra should be gettin Ty Lue dumptruck money...

I'm guessing 4-6 million...for the entire staff. So if we get Jeff, he gets a little more but works with a lot less.

The one thing I see here that makes Tilman's insistence on lowballing coaches is the fact that paying out the ass for a head coach don't necessarily equate to success. Scott Brooks, Dewayne Casey and Billy Donovan are/were stealing money imo because they are average coaches getting paid above average salaries. This is NOT a defense of Tilman but it doesn't help the Houston fanbase's hope that he would have shelled out money for a big name coach like when Doc or Lue were still available.

If JVG, I am sure it will be between $4-5 million.

Ernie Grunfeld was lowkey one of the worst GMs in the NBA. Probably even THE worst.

Hell he might have saw this graphic and that prompted him to lowball MDA. "If Boylen costs $69 grand for every win, you should cost significantly less because you're a significantly better coach!"
