Big week of earnings...I’ll be curious about XOM. They will talk about the dividend and possibly announce layoffs. Hopefully it won’t be too bad.
thanks for sharing. what's your exit plan for this? price target by citron is $50? https://www.benzinga.com/news/20/10/17942532/jumias-stock-surges-to-close-the-week-after-citron-turn
I was just referencing the crazy drop of the futures premarket lol sorry. And for JMIA I fully exited at open taking profits. I plan to re-enter when it dips lower as I think it could test 25 this week.
The market is seeing a broad-based selloff as COVID restrictions in Europe ramp up and the prospect of any breakthrough on fiscal stimulus talks dimmed over the weekend.
I’m still bullish on ups, demand will skyrocket with the holidays and now this covid crap. I’m surprised it hasn’t run up for er
i am L-T bullish on UPS, not so much in the near term the new CEO, former Home Depot exec, has been doing a great job in keeping cost down during the pandemic, UPS has been reaping the benefits of increases in B2C demand it will also benefit from re-opening, when pent-up demand. for B2B will just skyrocket UPS reports on 28 Oct, before market opens. in the near term, i am on the fence; it may retrace to close the gap
I guess it’s official : A.M.D. Agrees to Buy Xilinx for $35 Billion in Stock https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/27/technology/amd-xilinx-35-billion-stock-deal.html AMD taking a dip and XLNX popping in the early hours.
They announced earnings early, beat guidance by 10% but I guess the deal is seen as bad. Meh. Edit: 1.7x ratio. Closed amd to buy xlnx.
closed amd, for a loss. humbling, embarrassing, 180 degree from the late-July ERS experience, when it was almost a 4-bagger lesson learn, should have exited when it was first reported that the two co were beginning negotiating for a merger
used some of the proceed to buy Nov 73/79 CALL spread on KWEB, whose trading action is on the 3rd or 4th attempt to break thru that purple horizontal "double top" line. w the Ant Financial IPO rapidly approaching, expected to be sometime after wk 1 in Nov, it is poised for a POP i interpret today's large-body / no-head-nor-tail green candle as a confirmation of the previous 2 days' "doji-like candle"---indicating hesitation among traders---at the end of a trend, which were signaling a change in direction
such are the vagaries, at times logic defying, of playing the stock market. my glass half-full perspective, over the past two ers runs, i've doubled my money w AMD
in the wake of an outstanding ERS---beating revenue, margin and EPS---the 4% drop in stock price on 3 X normal volume is quite a powerful sell off. in view of this, in the near term, there is a good chance that it may trade below the 100 dma, 72.42, towards closing the 70/73 gap, at which time i may buy some longer term CALL to play the next ERS
It wasn't the earnings that got you, it was the share dilution/premium paid. I saw AMD trading around $76-$77 when it was announced early this morning. It may have been a good time to buy. lol.
