Let him pad his stats for a few weeks, then trade him. Whether Harden considers him a buddy or not, he should understand that he will never win a title with someone who plays brainless and inefficient basketball. It's great that Westbrook has fire and all, but his style of play actually negates Harden's strengths. Trade him. Please.

Also a top 8 pick in that draft of developed properly will be a star we own our pick 100% in 2023 as well so we have a 2 year window to tank so Rafeal whatever u do and he probably knows this is do not trade 2022 and 2023 FRPs. 2024 Thunder (top 4 protected) 2025 swap I think thunder are a top 4 seed similar to Denver that year so u swap to 20s 2026 Thunder top 4 protected so goal is to become a playoff team by 2024 again. Not too hard to do with 2 years of rebuilding can probably get a **** Ton of young pieces for harden and Russ. Sixers won't trade Embiid for Westbrook, not a chance, especially since they would pair Russ with Simmons, that would be like pairing Howard and Asik lol...not that it matters anyway since Westbrook won't get traded until Harden also gets traded, or pissed off with him.
Trade Harden, Westbrook, Tucker, Covington, House. The Rockets GM Stone better be able to hit on NBA Picks that are near All Star type players at least in the late 1st Round. Lateral Defense comes First, Natural 3 Point Shooting comes 2nd, Plus Length. It is tough to judge on prospects.
His value will only get worse! Sell while he's just garbage and not decayed rotting garbage that stinks up the whole place that the rest of the league catches on. China wants us to get Lin again so maybe we should trade Westbrook to the Ducks for Lin to be glued on our bench or for toilet scrubbing and sanitizing duties plus a billion dollars so Tilman can finally agree to pay whatever it takes to get stars around Harden and pay the Tax/repeater tax. Whose running the damn team, Harden or the GM. This is exactly why we don't need John Lucas as coach. Harden will run all over him. We need to do what's best for this organization, and if that's trading Westbrook for whoever, then we need to do that.
This team is locked with this contract, they will not be able to really add anything. Westbrook can put points on the scoreboards. But really all he was doing was taking away shots from other players. Harden is really all you need, but you need guys like Jamal Crawford or (Like a today Lou Williams)at affordable price coming off the bench to get you bench points when harden rest. Westbrook has to get traded. But oh well.
yup. we go all in (on the cheap) this year. if they don't make at least the WCF then you blow it up next summer. tank for 2022 and 2023. however, that would probably be the smart basketball move to make, not the smart financial move. Tilman likely won't want to tank, lose TV ratings, season tickets, merchandise sales, etc... too much money lost in tanking. he probably will want to hang on to harden and rus past their prime just for name recognition to sell season tickets and jerseys and stay relevant rather than bottoming out. I can see him giving harden and maybe even rus a 3 year extension to get through 2026. trading one of the '22 or '23 picks to move gordon and avoid the tax this year. stay in the playoff hunt until we own our own picks again in 2027. even then he probably won't be able to afford tanking and will overpay some marginal free agents to stay mediocre like the Knicks do.

les didn't want to tank during the rebuild either. but he had morey making steals like Lowry, dragic, scola. a masterful tmac trade. finding undrafted rookies like chuck Hayes. trading Lowry for a lotto pick. signing Lin/asik to poison pill deals, combining assets from the tmac and Lowry trade into the harden deal. hitting on some draft picks with brooks, landry, lamb (traded for harden after a great summer league), Greene (traded for Artest after a great summer league). the list of Morey's achievements can go on! Can stone lead a team through a rebuild without tanking? unfortunately I think we'll find out. we know he's the contract loophole guy, but not the undervalued player finder that morey is.
the knicks would take westbrook for sure, ian begley has inside sources within the knicks brass and their is huge intrest in westbrook
I have reservations on Imbed. We will then have two stars that might quit on the team when things are going bad. I still think and Knicks trade would set us up for the best success. Again it all boils down to James and how unhappy he would truly be if Russ gets traded.
This is when we need a “Kobe” on our team to tell him to put his “BIG BOY PANTS” on!! When a “STAR” player is coddled and treated like a baby all his career because of his talent, the team suffers! Winners do whatever is necessary to win!! Then after they’ve won, they call their “FRIENDS” and brag all about it!! I’m one of the biggest Harden fans on this board, but if he’s putting his friendship with Westbrook ahead of the teams goal of winning a ring....THEN he needs to go as well because he obviously isn’t the Alpha dog we need to to guide our team!!
