Avena isn't too impressed with the effort McDonald's (or Balvin) put into designing this meal, saying the chain is "simply repackaging some of their menu items together under J Balvin's name." She says it has nothing to do with the chain wanting to offer anything new or different, but rather, just a case of "pick[ing] a popular celebrity who has a lot of fans that frequent McDonalds."

I’m glad McDonald’s realizes how dumb people are so they are just using celebrities to endorse the same sandwiches
And it’s been a home run success

They need to do the BTS chicken nuggets meal or Mylie Cyrus happy meal

Busta Rhymes ate too many Travis Scott burgers at McDonald's and got fat AF -- then he switched to salad and grilled chicken at Jacked in the Box.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday that sales at McDonald's Corp. rose 4.6 percent in July, August, and September when compared to the same three-month period last year. This follows a quarter when McDonald's sales were down nearly 9 percent from the previous year after the company was forced to close dining rooms due to COVID-19.

The company attributes this growth to the partnership it did with Scott. This new marketing move helped the corporation gain momentum as the Travis Scott meal became one of McDonald's most sought after menu items. Scott's personalized meal was also accompanied by exclusive merchandise that only added to the meal's allure.

This isn't rebranding. Definitely a marketing gimmick, but its not rebranding.

a travis scott meal is basically a quarter pounder with cheese meal
and a j balvin meal is basically a big mac meal

either way it's been a massive success with celebrity endorsement

the will you eat a quarter pounder with cheese cause your favorite rapper had a commercial

the answer is 100 percent yes for the majority of people

It isn't basically those things, it is actually those things. They aren't renaming the sandwiches, just giving the combo a name as a marketing gimmick. That's why it's not a rebranding even. It's actually nothing. They just took their meals and tweaked them ever so slightly and then slapped a new celebrity label knowing it would get a bunch of people to come out and try it.

I mean the packaging isn't even different. It's just a regular McDonalds value mean that has a celebrity's name slapped to it.
