That may have been the best thing for this. He recovered in three days and is willing to offer what he was prescribed to the public for free.

It's really sad b/c they started so well.

Say whatever anyone wants about politics, but this virus is just a lot more patient than humans are. :(

Coronavirus has been around for quite some time. SARS? That was Covid-2 because it was in 2002.

    Covid-19? Found in 2019.

It's not a novel virus. And a vaccine won't shut it down.

What is not a novel virus? COVID-19 is a novel coronavirus.

By definition, Coronavirus & Covid can't be novel; they've been around for decades...

COVID-19 is a new strain of coronavirus, hence yes, it is a novel coronavirus. The term "novel" isn't applied to the virus -- it's applied to the strain of the virus, hence the name COVID-19 which was a new strain of the virus. Otherwise we'd be saying "it's just another cold" because the cold is a coronavirus, too. That one isn't "novel" -- COVID-19 is new/novel.

*EDIT* : Technically, I guess I should say SARS-CoV-2 is the novel strain of the coronavirus that causes the COVID-19 disease.

Italy said 95% of the infected show no symptoms.

If the Czech republic also got this type of asymptomatic cases, then it's merely a high number.

The mortality rate, numbers of very sick people are more relevant IMHO.

The virus mutated from the early February version into a more cooperative and mellow one.

I think I read that this is normal and virus does this to maintain ability to spread. Not as deadly but it keeps the virus alive.

Yeah, I have to backpedal here, it is still a dangerous and bad virus just not as lethal and milder symptoms have taken over.

And additionally mankind has learned every day.

Some mellowing over time would make sense, but it's still killing people. Very concerned about the hospitalizations and deaths to come in the US with something like 80k new cases on Friday alone.

I think part of the decline in death rate is that the elderly and people wth pre-existing conditions are on guard throughout most of the planet, which is a good (if depressing for them) thing. In any case, as these waves of cases return periodically, we clearly have to figure out a way to coexist and creep along with our lives while the virus circulates.
