Seems obvious to me that #Tilman has thrown out a LOWBALL offer and waiting for some schmuck to take it. The interviews are done. Just some lowball offer and we are waiting. Further, the longer it takes, the more money Tilman saves. Gawd damn embarrassment.
Exactly, I think the decision has been made between the parties, just not finalized, announced, official. Funny how it’s mentioned that the Rockets don’t have any picks so there is no hurry to name a coach. Guess that means no Rockets trades bringing back picks.......not even second round pick? lol.
Perhaps not just $$$$, but other contingencies... personnel moves..players, assistants.. Maybe waiting for someone else altogether to shake loose/make a decision.
Us and OKC - No coaches OKC is another notoriously cheap franchise, hence why we have Harden in the first place. All about that dolla dolla Bill y’all.
I wouldn't miss a chance to bash good old boy Tilman, but this could also be the candidates weighing their decisions as well. If you're JVG, do you go from a cushy paid-superfan job to a franchise blowing in the wind? If you're Silas, do you leave an ascending franchise (Dallas) for a descending one? Your first head coaching role can brand you for the rest of your career. They could both be waiting for an offer that makes it worth it (which they may or may not get). Lucas, if he's the Rockets' first pick (per the Twitter trolls) probably would've already signed. He is probably the fall back plan.
Tilman keeps flipping a coin But In the Same Process He Also Stows It! No Decision has been made Obviously.
Rockets salary is probably 2.5 million per week, to think that they dont want to pay 48k for another 2-3 weeks is far fetched. We are impatient fans but the reality is that the franchise just lost its successful GM of 13 years suddenly. They would have already hired Lucas if JVG/Silas was out of the running. It comes down to...what is the direction of the franchise...what will the roster look like this season, what happens 2-3 years from now when Harden/Russ are gone? Do you trade them after this season if it doesnt work so you do not miss out on their trade value before significant decline? How do you get assets back if you hold onto those franchise players through the end of their primes? Kobe, Dirk method or KG, Pierce method?
Y’all need to not forget that BJ was a HUGE part of the heart and soul of the rockets basketball organization and he passed away like a week ago.
I just figure its trying to put a little distance between Morey leaving and the coach being named - so there wouldnt appear to be any correlation between the 2 events... like they did with Melo in, Bzdelik out, Melo out, Bzdelik back... all about the spin... imo... lol
That's a fair point. I sincerely doubt they haven't decided. Imagine the disrespect of Silas just sitting at home. Waiting on a phone call. And waiting. And waiting... JVG not leaving cushionville ESPN job for this for sure. Maybe he's even got some contractual obligations being sorted out before he can be announced? It's bizarre as hell though.
