ur a braver man than me. i think fsly will retrace to the 90s. in this space, my bet would be on AKAM, who has been profitable for a long time and not overly-depending on one HUGE customer
Covered most of the RUN short from 75. Tesla earnings last night revealed that while tesla solar is ramping back up, it will probably take another 6 months to 1 year before it ramps up enough for competitors like RUN get impacted. Also with elections coming up good time to take profits on it in case a Biden win. Speaking of tesla, forget the earnings report(which was excellent), their full self driving beta was just released to select users for beta testing and videos of it are starting to pop up on Twitter. I still want to see more comprehensive videos to confirm but from what iv seen it could be a gamechanger. I'd encourage people to go check it out and see for themselves. Whoever solves autonomy is going to unlock $1t worth of value on its own, IMHO.
Why do you think Biden would be bad for market? He may raise corporate taxes, but I think he will be open to stimulus. Add zirp and growth companies that report tiny/no profits to tax should be fine. Biden's been taking wall street money his whole career, and the current fav to be his treasury sec if he wins is the freaking CEO of blackrock. Edit: I am concerned about civil unrest if the result is very close though.

As I sit here watching Pelosi try to keep this market up... lol. Man, if you blink, you miss some runs in this market. I avoided it when it crashed and am tempted now, but still staying away for now. lol. What is LLNX? *EDIT* : Oh geez. I hope you didn't mean LLNW... if so, you may need a hug.
Yes, LLNW Painful loss. Closed my underlying positions. If they can't make money as a CDN specialising in video streaming during a pandemic... that seriously sucks. Ugh.
going into the earnings report to analyst, INTC is down 5, trading in the 49s after-hour bodes well for AMD stock price ? fwiw, a doji candlestick (elongated "+") at the bottom of a short downtrend signals hesitation among traders, suggesting that a change in direction is forthcoming
I was referring to covering my short of RUN before elections in case Biden wins, since that could be positive for solar stocks.
The only thing I wonder about these chip stocks is how much of their guidance/upswing was dependent on the sale of things like laptops for the stay-at-home trade. For example, for students taking classes from home, employees working from home and upgrading their computers, companies buying new laptops for employees, etc. It's not like people are buying those things every quarter. I almost bought some AMD immediately after seeing the INTC earnings, but then realized I couldn't answer that question.
I don't dare predict earnings anymore haha. In medium term (up to first half of next year), AMD is looking very strong imo. Recent developments over the last month: - new 5000 series desktop processors launching on 5 Nov will extend their lead in performance, and AMD have raised prices, increasing gross margins. intel's rocketlake is coming in march 2021... and there's a good chance that rocketlake may be worse than 5000 series. - (rumor/fairly reliable leaks) for the first time in many years, all the leaks are pointing to AMD's latest graphics cards being announced on 28 oct to be on par in performance with nvidia's latest gen. and this coincides with nvidia having production problems at samsung's fab (they are moving back ampere production to tsmc next year). - (less certain rumor) new server chips will be announced in November. they are so far ahead in terms of cpu architecture design that they can fabricate lower end server chips on an older node and still be competitive enough as a volume/revenue play and really hurt intel's xeon margins edit: This slide sums up the current CPU situation.
think that amd has also been expanding in xbox and data storage center, im sure that saitou will provide a thorough narrative
Every report I've seen from the big research firms is that 3Q continued to be good for traditional PC. Link below is one example, but I've seen a few saying the same thing. I'm actually surprised at Intel's earnings. I don't own any stock, but was expecting them to have a good quarter. https://www.idc.com/getdoc.jsp?containerId=prUS46928320
I just saw this stock being mentioned on tv jokingly with pent-up dental demand : ALGN up 35% today after earnings... it's a $450 stock. Anybody know about dental plays because apparently they're hot. lol. WOW.
