Houston is dominated by chicken first and foremost, then the strip club industry.

Most of the city eat chicken, especially in the presidential elections.

I've lived in Houston for a long long time, I'm not in O&G

    I'm OG

Weird, I just had this conversation yesterday. Not an either/or but how awesome both are. Haven’t had either in a number of years. Gotta go with Timmy Chan’s. Their fried rice was awesome and I had the shrimp and broccoli at least once a week in the UH days.

Timmy Chan's is family-owned and operated. Our menu has evolved throughout the years to better served our neighborhood. We proudly serve American-Chinese food, chicken wings, and Cajun inspired dishes. Our most popular items includes Garlic Wings, Cajun Shrimp Pasta, Lo Mien, Fried Rice and Beef with Broccoli to name a few. Our General Tso Chicken is second to none and all are cooked to order. For the past 40 years one thing has not changed, our recipe for Wings and Rice.

We are the first Chinese restaurant in Houston to offer the convenience of the Drive-Thru service. Our customers can have a delicious Asian meal or just a tall cup of Kool-Aid during the hot Texas summer without leaving the comfort of their cars. We have grown and expanded to better serve our community and we cherish our entry in the urban dictionary. Timmy Chan's is one of the most-mentioned restaurants in Houston's music scene.

Houston, Texas is our home and we are proud to be an integral part of our community for generations to come.

don't both places have other locations that aren't as good in quality as the original locations?

Timmy Chan’s does but I’ve only been to the OST one. Not sure about Frenchys.

That drive through at Timmy Chan’s with the double bulletproof thick ass glass money exchange system is boss.

Timmy Chan's. I've tried Frenchy's before, it was disgustingly salty.

Both were good for what they were. Frenchy's did get me laid, Timmy Chan's never did. Frenchy's wins.

I used to eat at the Timmy Chan's in Midtown in the late '60's and early '70's. Back then, it was very good. I don't know what's up with them now. They had a really good steak at night in the late '60's for about $10 that my father liked. I met him there for dinner sometimes. I lived in either the Montrose area or Midtown for several years back then. Such a great area at the time and rents were cheap.

Grew up by the Timmy Chans in SW Houston, and that was a staple of mine lifeguarding in high school.

But... I need my money to support college education at Treasures.

I used to keep Timmy Chan's in business. Loved that fried rice and chicken as well as that garlic chicken on a stick thingy. I miss those days. lol. I tried Frenchy's a couple of times. Once at the restaurant somewhere around UH, I believe, and the other time somewhere around the Fondren/Chimney Rock/Hilcroft area near Main (can't remember). It was alright, I guess. But give me Timmy Chan's. From looking at the menu, it looks like it's changed since the days I used to eat there (early-to-mid 90's).
