Lucas isn't equivalent to promoting a Nurse as we saw in Toronto. HE IS A 66 YEAR OLD DEVELOPMENT COACH. Maybe his skillset is best used to develop people as men and as players, he doesn't need to hold the clip board to do that.
Tilman owns the team. It's on him to rein in his player's bad decisions or hire someone that will do so with tact, like you know, Daryl Morey. Unfortunately, good employees are running away from him.
It's Harden controlling the decision making process and Tilman loving it. Harden is happy and Lucas is probably working for health insurance and a dining at Landry's stipend.

And Tilman is in a rough spot because if he says to James that he’s not going to have the control he had before and James gets his feelings hurt and demands to be traded people will blame Tilman for running off James.
