Lindsey Graham PAC received $250K from Oracle just before Tik Toc deal announced

This obviously doesn't look good but i think for Graham to be looked at you have to have more specifics on him helping Oracle. Microsoft was the leading candidate to buy TikTok but backed out because they say the Chinese owner would not sell to them. Oracle was the last man standing. Trump was openly saying the Microsoft deal was gonna happen

 

Not sure if there is any back dealing and 250K isn't that large in the scheme of thing, but it was limited to 5K previously. Now there is no limit at all. Made possible by Citizens United 5-4 partisan vote. Basically, rich folks have more voting voice than normal and poor folks. The new 6-3 court would even be more devastating to the common folks. Get used to it.

As soon as the Tik Tok deal was announced, I knew it was a vis a vis deal with both sides benefitting, meaning government players and the companies. These companies have members of their boards in government.

I don't think it's that great a deal in terms of tech transfer or even privacy.

Oracle/Walmart mostly want the branding and kiddies using the platform.

Microsoft tried to address Trump's initial issues but China and Bytedance shitcanned them when they proposed moving operations locally with MS under the helm.

Instead, they're creating a US company with a Chinese majority owner with similar but less obvious security concerns (now hosted on Oracle servers!).

I guess it's cool because that new company pays 5 billion in taxes to the fed.

Weird deal...buy American!
