He's got one hit for his career on curveballs thrown by lefties...and on that one it was a surefire out if not deflected by the pitcher. Not a good matchup for Choi.

So, now you get to walk Correa to get to Bregman. That move doesn't look good to me.

 

Same. I've alternated between listening on the radio and just periodically checking the score on my phone the last two games. Much less stressful.

 

Considering the success they had this year, I'll trust their management team to arrange the lineup how they see fit.

My wife and I are looking at getting another dog. I suggested Groot as a name last night. Her response, "We aren't naming our dog after Correa's dog just because Correa hit a walk-off homer. He hits a walk-off tomorrow, and we'll talk."

 

This is a good idea. I'm going to go talk to my wife now and negotiate a little something extra in celebration if the Astros pull it off today.

Come on know don't start with the negativity.

 

I mean, sure. But their bats aren't exactly their reason for their success. They're 10th of 18 playoff teams in OPS in the postseason. If they were scoring runs left and right, I wouldn't question it. But they've been pretty bad in this series.

 

The Power of Positive thinking is real. Unfortunately, the internet is not a very positive place.

 

OK, that's solid reasoning. There had to be some justification for benching Choi considering how good he's been in the playoffs.

It doesn't look good to me...for them...as Bregman will get pissed and do some damage to them at the plate.

Also, Dusty is a genius so he knows better than I do.

Snell was lucky in the 1st game, hopefully he's not good tonight...

 

Not including the postseason, he had only 18 PAs against LHP this season (125 vs RHP). For his career it's about a 6:1 ratio and his OPS is about 300 points higher against righties. All of which is to say that they're not doing anything new tonight, he didn't start Game 1 either.

 

Maldonado is doing an incredible job with this pitching staff. He really should get a lot of credit for navigating them this far.
