True Rockets fans better hope that ferntits goes bankrupt sooner than later and has to sell. If not, he's about to do to the team what Trump has done to the country for the last 3+ years.

    LOL,

the most notable Rockets free agent signing PRE Morey era is this :

    October 20, 2006
Houston inked Bonzi Wells, who averaged 8.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 79 games with the franchise.

And Morey had signed Trevor Ariza (from the Lakers first), D12, Eric Gordon, TJ Tucker.

Most were highly sought after FA at that time.

If Morey quit because of Tilman, I'm sure he'd warn Hinkie away.

Here is my thinking on this. The Morey I knew as a STH of the Rockets was always a sharp dresser, had a jovial personality, and was very immaculate in his appearance. Then about 18 months ago, his appearance changed from what he was before. He seem not so happy. He was already showing signs of burnout or "mid-life" male syndrome, and from what was written on ESPN, he states he wants to step away from the NBA, not just the Rockets. I think he needs a break. The pressure of the last year with the China reaction & action, plus the Covid-19 pandemic has taken a toll on him. I wish him luck in whatever he pursues in the near future. To blame this all on Tillman is not fair. Sometimes, men need a change.

Tilman isn’t doing any sort of Sam Hinkie type process...I can’t believe people think he’d let someone like Sam Hinkie cook

with Tilman Fertitta in charge, we are the Knicks if they had James Harden

A sharp dresser and immaculate in his appearance? I think that’s an exaggeration. He’s always been pretty casual. He has grown a beard and put on a few pounds in recent years but I think the casual attire and attitude are more about him being established—he isn’t trying to prove anything or secure a career. I believe that he wants to spend time with his kids and is burned out feeling like this team is now out of his hands mostly.

I would say at least top 5. The only ones that are better are maybe Masai.....and I really cant think of anyone else. The guys over at Dallas and Miami are really good too. You wont fine someone as good or as forward thinking to replace him tbh.

Maybe the Westbrook trade was the last straw. He was forced to give away assets to get a player that he knew would not fit. This playoffs was painfully clear that the trade was horrible. And now we are stuck and have no assets to to do much of anything other than rebuild from the ground up in the foreseeable future.

Ownership is all that matters. If you're good, you will get good results. If you are bad and won't pay, you get bad results. Simple as that.

Looking forward to the next few decades with this embarrassment of an owner

Ringzzzzzzzzzzz culture has really poisoned NBA discussions. Now it’s basically if you don’t win a title, you’re a complete failure and should probably kill yourself.

The Rockets never had a losing season under Morey. Went from complete irrelevance to being relevant almost every single year with him. Traded nobodies for a NBA MVP / Future Hall Of Famer. Made the playoffs damn near every year and was almost guaranteed to win a playoff series. Made it to 2 Western Conference Finals. Built a team that went toe to toe with the most talented NBA team of all-time, and people act like the Rockets were the Charlotte Bobcats.

NBA fans are truly some of the most casual and ignorant in all of American sports.

I love the "shy Morey haters" who have lain in wait for a decade to post things like this. Very monte cristo!
