I just remember all those posters who said the Lakers wouldn't even make the playoffs.

You know what. I feel kind of good knowing it wasn't GSW winning it again this year.

Also this has to look bad for the NBA that viewership is so screwed.

Yeah, I agree completely. This is a BBS and I can go off the rails. It's massively disappointing in a very difficult year to see LeChosen and the Fakers get another ring. I won't apologize if it saddens me and if I found the NBA playoffs to be unusually boring this year, sad to say. I guess my severe Rockets' fandom makes it all the more bitter honestly. We ain't going nowhere.

people gotta stop with this. he played against physical teams, but they werent that talented. fouling a lot doesnt make you good.

id take this heat team over any knick or pacers team he beat.

heat only had a chance against the lakers because they didnt put AD at the 5 and bench howard until game 6.

Its like he deliberately took the Jordan / Kobe form of "never settle", talk brash about it. Seeing Jordan do a whole Last Dance about himself, Kobe get posthumous love, he couldnt defer any longer lol. I never liked that passive-aggressive petty "shade" about him. Tim Duncan didnt do any of that, with more championship rings.

This has to be the least significant championship in NBA history.

Check out the headline on ESPN

they called the lakers run ‘Improbable’
Lol , this is why the ratings are down significantly
It’s beyond obvious that ESPN wanted the lakers to win and build this crap story line about LeBron’s legacy and doing it for Kobe

no it’s for money and for China . The nba would start laying off people if the rockets made it

    screw LeBron

You petty ass losers really think LA won because of rigging and not because they were better on the floor almost every game through the playoffs?

So for those who watched it, how bad was officiating? Did it seem rigged in any way? It's a nice little story for the league I guess. It was always going to be an LA team though.

I hate the Lakers just as much, if not more than anyone else here but this was a completely clean win. Having 2 MVP level players alone is enough to make you a really really good team in an ordinary year. We've just had our standards shifted the last few years with all this stacked super team bullshit going around but it's nice to see the NBA back to normal again. The Lakers weren't a dominant, sure thing favorite to win. Their best player had to put in an amazing finals performance to get it done and that's the way it should be.
