@The Cat does Luc have corona too? Or is he just waiting to fly with Westbrook for financial reasons?
I don't think cancelled, but could be severely compromised. In the ongoing, similar MLS event, two teams were removed due to number of CV cases on their teams. One was Dallas, which was one of the top teams. So, how big is the asterisk if, say, LA gets sent home without even a chance to play, or finish the playoffs? What if that occurs IN the playoffs...is that a forfeit, and the other team just advances? Have they even thought of this scenario? FWIW, FC Dallas had 10 cases, so it was pretty high...but, again, very similar scenario to how the NBA is holding their event. Everyone was tested prior, play in one location, bubble, etc.
FernTits already traded all his picks... Teams Could Sell First Round Picks To Raise Money There could be NBA teams who explore selling their first round pick this year in order to raise money with league revenues significantly down for the 20-21 season. "I suspect first-round picks will be for sale in this draft," one team executive said. "We haven't really seen that in a decade." The Denver Nuggets were the last team to sell a first round pick as they sold the selection that became Rudy Gobert in 2013 to the Utah Jazz. The 2020 draft is generally considered to be one of the weaker classes in recent memory.
I'm guessing the Rockets will be asking for money from teams to take on their 1st round pick. FernTits is a genius.
I think the NBA has done a good job with the presentation of the games -- the crowd noise is subtle, but works well -- the digital fan board is a good idea from soccer. The board is better in the small arena and the tech has had some time to be tweaked. Overall better than expected considering the circumstances.
Personally I don't even realize they are playing without a crowd. Overall I feel the competition has been really good and I don't see how you call this an asterisk for whoever wins the championship.
Yeah, I definitely forget I'm watching without a crowd -- Van Gundy has been great today playing with people on the board... that lady actually went and got her pet goat. Good job JVG/ NBA.
Should the NBA consider pausing the season? (Is there a point they should?) Or “business as usual”? Bulls have like 10 guys missing. Nets have 5ish? guys. They did say they would increase testing blah blah blah https://theathletic.com/3020785/202...on-spreads-and-what-does-it-mean-for-players/
