There is not a lot of interest with other stars wanting to play with Harden. For good reason.

LeBron is a beast, but his lack of leadership skills will always prevent him from being GOAT.

Harden is a beast too, but his lack of leadership skills will prevent him from winning a championship. Harden is not a leader.

So Caruso is better than Harden, too?

Do you think the reason why Houston can't acquire stars is because no one wants to play with Harden and not because of things that are outside of his control like:

-a hard push by our GM to implement an offensive system that only caters to one player while other players are left to stand around and shoot 3s
-a roster that's top heavy comprising of mostly average role players
-a roster that's devoid of any big man playing significant minutes
-a team that has little to no capspace every year because you need that first and foremost to get free agents
-an owner who, by all accounts, isn't seen as a person that is willing to spend or be hands off and let experienced people run his team

I love Harden but I also criticize him when his play sucks. But stars not lining up isn't 100% on Harden. If you're a marquee free agent like Kevin Durant was last year and you had to pick pretty much the last time you want to play for, would you want to go to Brooklyn where all you have to do is just sign the contract or pick Houston and force Morey to move the entire roster to fit your cap number, not to mention you're dealing with a cheapass owner who would probably not want to do anything to rebuild the roster?

    1) Harden vs. Jokic is not what's being compared here.

    2) Comparing Harden's playoff resume to Kawhi's playoff resume is not a winning strategy, my dude. I'm sure you're aware of that.

Okay....but what if I told you Harden was more efficient than Lebron that game 4?

Wel Kawhi just had way bigger collapse than Harden has in his whole career. So what's the excuse for a championship player chocking like that?

Harden. LeBron can absolutely turn it on and be the best player on the court at any time but as of now LeBron isn't even the best player on his team.

Give Harden, AD and we'd be cruising the same way.

Harden is surrounded by trash pieces and has been his whole tenure here. Morey should be ashamed for some of these rosters. MDA only trusted 7 guys and one of them got busted for busting. Harden is a worse GM than LeBron though. He wanted Lawson, CP3 and then Russ when he needed to let Daryl go to work and find him a better running mate. Harden needed to embrace being the ball handler. Bev was a great PG next to him. A dynamic forward would have resulted in a championship at least once and I'm positive.

This kind of topics only result embarrassing ourselves.
one player lead his teams to finals 9 of the last 10 seasons,
one player never lead his team to final.

Question is right now not based on career.

LeBron isn't the best player on his team. When he was they missed the playoffs and he sat out due to "injury."

Check the past 8 years. Harden would never. It's a team sport. Some people are just built differently like Harden others change cities so they can run to another franchise. That same guy leaves after making the GM gives contracts to overpaid players represented by his friend and once he leaves said contracts are nothing but albatross.

    You're embarrassing yourself.

Harden definitely has not been surrounded by trash pieces expect the last couple of seasons.

Here is the thing. I think Harden is a victim of unfortunate circumstance also as he had to run into prime GSW. Would he make the finals without them in the way? Most likely. However that still doesn't remove the fact that Harden significanltly decreases his efficiency and production in the playoffs while LeBron James increases his production while maintaining his efficiency. That tells me enough that LeBron would win in more rough circumstances than Harden would.

I think 2018 Rockets with healthy LeBron instead of Harden would win a title.

I don’t think Harden ever surpassed Lebron as a player in his career

    Eh, check the rosters.

Only year the team was really complete he was a hamstring away from beating four hall of famers in their prime. He was the only all star on that team that season. We truly underrate how great he has been.

Ariza walked, was later traded for Oubre who would be the best scoring wing he ever played next to in Houston. Luc walked for nothing. Melo was signed. It was shameful. #runitback...exceptfortwoofthemostimportantpieces

    lmao.
Lebron is not about stats, do you believe Anthony Davis can go to final without James or do you believe any rockets players can't go to final without Harden?

I'm not even a fan of Lebron, but Lebron is better. Harden will never have the (consistent) mentality to be on the same level as Lebron despite Harden having more skill and a bigger bag.

Anthony Davis would make any of the top 6 teams in the West the odds on favorites if you added him without subtracting another star. That's a cute game to play. LeBron plays for the Lakers. The most attractive free agent destination in the NBA with a top 2 player of all time. Anthony Davis was never going to join the Rockets because they cannot offer that opportunity in that location.

LeBron is about stats. He played like **** in Game 1 and then stayed in during the blow out and improved his numbers as the game got closer with the best player on the Heat injured, the second best out with an injury and the third best out with an injury. LeBron is either the greatest or second greatest player of all time depending who you ask. He is not the same guy regardless of any narrative that is thrown around. He is still a superstar, Harden is better.

LeBron controls the NBA and is a constant cry baby who gets his way. Maybe if Silver liked Harden, we would have beaten the Warriors.

Harden definitely is more skilled. He just doesn't have the body and conditioning of LeBron throughout a game.

LeBron is the type of dude who might struggle throughout a game shooting wise, look frustrated and tired but then in the final minutes in the 4th, you'll see him do 2 chase down blocks with full on on sprints to win the game for them. He just doesn't get tired in the middle of the game. He almost always finds away and doesn't sulk like Harden often can do when it isn't going his way.

That tends to happen when your coach gives you proper rest throughout the game and doesn't place a bulk of the responsibilities on your shoulders. MDA overused Harden to improve his odds. Harden is a historically used player and hopefully the next coach can improve that. Then we can talk about second wind.
