I rather JVG but I wouldn't be mad at Doc being the new coach. D'antoni was great for offense only. I'd be interested in Doc's more balanced coaching.

Amen. Although I do like Austin for some reason.

If I was Doc, I would pick Philly. Much easier road to the finals than the West. The Rockets or even the lob city Clippers would have been finals contenders in the East.

Free agent players/coaches “meet with Houston “ as a token gesture. We are like that one minority coach who gets interviewed in every coaching search in the NFL. We always get the meeting. But never get the gig.

This is what is spewed about this team. Simmons used to be a friend of Morey, I wonder if that changed.

    Didn't even get a meeting.

    Exactly what I expected.

I don't think he was the best coach on the market. I do think he was the best culture shift. Tilman is going to scare away high level hires at the coaching position for a long time.

What this clearly shows is that Stephen A Smith will provide good publicity for Tilman. Doc just didn't play along long enough to act like he even considered the team. I actually agree he wasn't the best "coach" for this team, I just wanted to secure a future of stability. I fear we will have a family ran front office within the decade.

I always thought that was the plan when the Fertitta boys stuck their noses in the front office since the first season to be "groomed".

the doc says this prescription is no longer available. Anyways, side effects could have been 1st round exits, 2nd round exits, blowing 3-1 series leads, getting contracts off a championship more than a decade ago, playing the 10th man in crucial minutes, and stealing D’Antoni jobs.

Same. I just thought this was a chance to change fate. We are going to be the Knicks except instead of playing in New York, it's Houston. I love the city but I get it when people don't. It's hot, humid, hurricanes and mosquitos. That would scare a lot of people away. Not JVG though.

Doc went all pharmaceutical rep on philly. He said back that bank truck up or I’m talking to Houston. And Philly fell for it, like we will offer a coach more than 5m.
