Trump had his chance to prove that he's capable of participating in a presidential debate, and he failed. He should be considered disqualified from doing any more debates. If the debates are to continue, someone else from Trump's team should debate on his behalf, and no audience. Return to discussing actual issues.

Trump was much less confident this time than he was in 2016 debates. He is acting desperate.

As a non American I find this debate very entertaining, better than most shows out there.

Why would he tell a group of people he doesn't know to standby? Why would he tell his base to be vigilanties at polling stations?

Trump wimps out and tries to backtrack. He doesn't even have the backbone to stand by his foolish proclamations.

LOL Ben Shapiro is an idiot.

"He said he was willing to do so!" ... but then didn't.

He wasn't misquoted or taken out of context, words weren't put in his mouth. He said what he said, "Stand back, stand by."

Now did he mean stand back, stand down? Probably. Benefit of the doubt? No. (Same wouldn't be afforded to anyone else. They'd pounce all over them for "misspeaking".)

    That said...

He said because they’re outdoors people are safe. Honestly Biden had so many missed opportunities to pound him last night. Corona/masks, troops, taxes, racism, education. Biden needs to keep those trigger words ready and come on the attack more.

In 2016 he didn't expect to win - and was probably fine with - losing so that he could shuffle off to start some "Trump TV" right wing news boondoggle with Steve Bannon and continue attacking and berating and potshotting. Basically, Heads I win, tails you lose

In 2020, after having suffered a series of mini-strokes and being the worst president in history, he is facing a much worse post-presidential predicament, with the looming specter of criminal investigations, indictments, foreclosure and bankruptcy.
