If by pants you mean athletic shorts...yes. Everyday. Rocked them with a suit jacket and tie on a call yesterday.
Assuming shorts are pants since OP is talking about boxers as the alternative. In which case yes. Houston summer is too hot for long pants. But weather is cooling off now. I'd wear clothes regardless but with all my kids doing virtual school and my wife and I doing virtual meetings, you never know when you're going to walk by a live camera.
I attended court via zoom with no pants or underwear.... balls all over the leather chair in the guest room. I failed to pick up the laundry and a dress shirt and suit jacket and tie was all I had.
I started wearing what I call 'Dress Gym Shorts". I can wear them during the day, then work out in them the following morning!
So I go into a video meeting today for an intro with a project implementation team with a vendor. I hurry to put on a button-down shirt to at least look professional. What I get on the other end: Lady in her 50s in a tank top Lady in her 40s in a t-shirt Lady in her 30s in a t-shirt with one of those nose rings in the middle Man in his 50s in a rumpled polo shirt Dude in his 30s in a t-shirt and a ball cap Girl in her 20s in a t-shirt three people without video This is a multimillion dollar product that we're implementing and the team looks like they just woke up on a Sunday morning Am I over-dressing in a button-down shirt? It's a 'casual' button-down, nothing fancy. World has changed, fast.
