.... i get it but damn , where do we draw the line on free ****.

RVW wont get overturned ... Not by any court. Its etched in stone.

I'm more concerned about the 1st , 2nd and 14th amendments than RvW.

Birth control pays for itself. I think it would be a huge boost to our economy and it would lower the crime rate if we truly made it to where people could have babies when they were ready to have babies

So, how do we get preexisting conditions protection (prior to ACA, there was no protection with the “free” market)? Or, are you for losing that protection?

You don't think a lot of those would still occur ?

Think about the number of under aged girls who have kids .... You think they are going to be asking their parents for consent to get BC ?

Yeah , some in the over 18 crowd might be helped .... others not.

I wouldn't fight against such an idea / plan.

Pre-existing seemed pretty obvious that part of Trump's plan.

Personally I even disagree with this. I'm a capitalist and before ACA I would like to know what difference ACA has made out of their lives health wise vs what Ben Taub/LBJ were GIVING them

Saying "pre-existing is part of his plan" means absolutely nothing. The reason why pre-existing conditions is so important is because covering pre-existing conditions is considered high risk by private insurers and thus the free market makes it near impossible for people with pre-existing conditions to have affordable healthcare. There has to be some sort of mechanism to allow pre-existing conditions to be affordable. Trump has never once in his life explained what that mechanism would be.

Trump hasn't released his health plan, so I'm not sure how that's at all obvious or possible to know, and more importantly, how would he accomplish that. He has said he would issue an EO requiring health ins to cover pre-existing conditions for all. You can't EO that. That's a straight lie or misunderstanding and doesn't bold well for us that do care about this, does it.

You are in the 20-30% that doesn't care for protection then. Over 100M under 65 (anyone over 65 is already cover by Medicare which doesn't exclude) today have pre-existing medical conditions. Every one of us will eventually have one.

My understanding of this situation is that the argument in 2016 was that it was an election year, the Senate wouldn't confirm the supreme court nominee, and Republicans wanted the people to decide the President. This time the answer for why the same thing isn't happening is because Republicans control both white house and Senate.

They're saying 'we're picking the next supreme court justice...because we have the power to do so'

Essentially, the Senate selects supreme court justices via confirmation power. How would Republicans feel about Democrats leveraging their power if they controlled the Senate? Why wouldn't a future Democrat majority Senate just never confirm another conservative judge or pack the court.

It seems politicians are testing the boundaries of our checks and balances. It would be pretty dumb to assume the other side won't do the same and continue to push the limits.

Women use birth control for more than contraception so there could be a reason why a 17 year old girl would ask a parent for it that doesn't have to do with being sexually active.

In your scenario though it implies the underaged girl has a responsible parent that cares for them and likely would have had this talk with said child before and knows the reality that she might be sexually active.

Also we've been giving contraceptives to teens for some time now.

    https://www.cdc.gov/healthyyouth/healthservices/caps/index.htm

We also have history as data to show that when you give women options to contraceptives in general...your country does A LOT better. It really is a shame that the GOP wants to destroy that though.

That's pretty funny. I once visited Rhodes College decades ago. Everyone seemed to be making that Rhodes Scholar joke when I was there. It's hilarious that now the President's press secretary tried to pass it off as serious.
